Bertie_Dellend Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) We have been using Paxton security passes for all staff for the past year or so. Several times a week we have to issue spare temporary cards to staff who have forgotten or loose them. Just realised - that out of the dozens and dozens of times over the past year when people have forgotten / lost their card, not 1 has been non-teaching staff. It has been 100% teaching staff. For context we have approx. 50 non teaching staff (including all cleaners, dinner staff etc - who all have cards) and 65 teaching staff! Edited October 3, 2018 by Bertie_Dellend
TechMonkey Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Is the difference Support staff wear theirs continuously whereas Teaching staff aren't required to?
hardtailstar Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Is the difference Support staff wear theirs continuously whereas Teaching staff aren't required to? We have to wear them at all times. Many teachers dont!
Bertie_Dellend Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Ha ha no! All staff have to display their ID on a lanyard whenever they are on site - plus without them they cannot access any doors.
DalekSec Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 We have the same setup, and i'm trying to think the last time a non-teaching staff lost theirs! Where as we had a teacher just the other day.
FishCustard Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 One of ours lost hers on the very first day. When I asked what happened, she said "I must have put it down and forgotten it". Comforting, isn't it?
Linfit Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 Our record so far is one teacher who has lost 6 fobs - currently on her seventh, doubt she will keep it till Christmas.
Bertie_Dellend Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 Our record so far is one teacher who has lost 6 fobs - currently on her seventh, doubt she will keep it till Christmas. We have started charging for them after the second loss. 1
gumbygaz Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 We have one teacher who continuously sprays herself with perfume which results in the id badge gets a coating and dissolves the picture/writing. She's had quite a few replacements now, should really be charging for them!
MatthewL Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 If anyone looses theirs in our group they are charged, luckily they only have them as ID and no access but could be added later. The fee goes into the charity pot and they buy cakes for all 20+ of us
Bertie_Dellend Posted October 5, 2018 Author Posted October 5, 2018 So just to tip me off my self-righteous perch - had first support staff member in this morning who has forgotten their card!
Ketlane Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 It all depends on consequences. Daughter is cabin crew - failure to bring the pass means sent home, no flight, no pay. They don't forget passes!
PotNoodleTech Posted October 5, 2018 Posted October 5, 2018 It's probably because teachers are so busy, and we are not so we have plenty of time to look after ours..
