According to this - https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-review/vauxhall/meriva/interior it has 1500 litres of air space.... So if balloons are 2l then you'd need about 750

The rear seats fold flat into the floor to free up a maximum capacity of 1,500 litres and the large boot opening makes it easy to load big items.

 

So let's say 2000 litres total.

 

The radius of a 30-centimeter-diameter balloon is 15 centimeters, so: 4/3 x pi x 15 x 15 x 15 = 14,137 cubic centimeters = 14 liters.

 

2000/14 = 142

I think 150 should be enough with some spares, as they won't fill every bit of volume due to their shape (and if you press them in too much, they'll start popping).

Turns out it takes 194 balloons! Made my kids help me blow them up and took them in over 2 days.
