Dos_Box Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 (edited) I never thought I'd say this, but...can we have some please? I know that the south and Midlands have some very nasty weather predicted to arrive later today, but we here in Lancashire have had very, very little over the past few weeks and could do with a decent downpour. In fact, rain is generally one of those things we never have to worry about a lack of, but recently it's been warm/hot and balmy days here in Preston and I'm getting a little tired of watering the garden every day! On a more serious note, if you are in an area that is to be affected, stay safe and lets see some decent pics if it is as biblical as the news is making out. Edited May 31, 2018 by Dos_Box
nicholab Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 I was camping at Stonley Park with the Thunder 2km away on Saturday. That was interesting.
Norphy Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 There was a deluge in central London on Tuesday with thunder, lightning, the works. Supposedly we're in for more tonight but I'm not seeing much sign of it at the moment.
DalekSec Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 I love me a decent thunderstorm, but the trouble i have is i'm a heavy sleeper and can easily sleep through them
elsiegee40 Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Our bit of Kent was a wash out at the weekend and on Tuesday. It’s very humid, but I am relieved that we have only had light rain so far today despite the forecast
Dos_Box Posted May 31, 2018 Author Posted May 31, 2018 Very muggy here now. My kids complained earlier as I'd had the blinds close and windows open all day to keep the house nice and cool. My daughter went outside with her jacket on as she thought it would be colder outside! That didn't last long
Andrew_C Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 Looks like a band of it moving NW a few miles from me. Unless something changes it is just muggy and damp here. I'm due to spend tomorrow AM on the roof with a new satellite dish. Anyone want to take bets?
witch Posted May 31, 2018 Posted May 31, 2018 We had a bit last week but none over the weekend when others seem to have floods and all sorts. Nothing here today except a bit of rain this morning. Very muggy here too

Thanks for that @Dos_Box Your wish came true yesterday evening... heavy downpour combined with thunderstorms (although, I do love thunderstorms!). Lasted about an hour, or so.
Davit2005 Posted June 1, 2018 Posted June 1, 2018 2 power cuts at home last night. I have a bigger 1500VA UPS for home network/servers and a smaller older 750VA unit which powers my desktop, guess which one failed . I'm guessing it is config issue on the network/server UPS as it was saying 42mins remaining, both are APC units with NMC cards, bit of testing to do next week while I'm off work I think.
