for me it's

Sharp

Konica Minolta

Ricoh

I really don't like the ricoh interface, especially that annoying tablet they use for on device use. From experiences with dealing with Ricoh in the past (going into schools to see the school signed up for a 5 year lease, and a completely over specced printer, because that was the one Ricoh said was the most suited to their needs). From experience, I've always found Sharp to be reliable and cost effective solution, easily able to cope with all a school could throw at it. That said, my current place has Konica Minolta, and it's come a long way over the last few years. Very happy with it here, to the point, we have just signed a new lease with them

We've had good and bad with KM, but they produce good results, the service centre is pretty decent (leased) and they have the functionality we need (sometimes needs engineer prodding to get it). Not much experience with the others, other than an ancient Sharp from the days of mono backlit LCD non-touch screens. That was a tough old beast.

Only used Konica here (leased) and they seem reliable their support is also pretty good they usually come out within a few days.

Only used Sharp, who are all right. I heard some rumblings the Richo were having a big reorg and pushing users off to support companies while downsizing. May be nothing but just be aware.

they usually come out within a few days.

Few days!! Our lot kick off if nothing is done within 24hrs!

Last time round we trialed Canon, Ricoh and Konica. Ricoh had best image quality of the test prints (mix of docs and high-res photos to be printed at A4 and A3 sizes on a range of papers/card) we requested they send. Konica was best overall (quality/price/features). Ricoh wanted the moon on a stick price-wise, so we dropped them.

Service calls usually result in an KM tech arriving within 4 working hours and the ones around here are good.

Hardware-wise, KM are fine.

KM the company does seem to have a problem with internal squabbles/fiefdoms and finger-pointing between depts that occasionally get exposed to customers.
