kennysarmy Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 It looks like it relies on a piece of Microsoft Software called XNA to function. Sadly this is no longer supported under Windows 10: https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=20914 Weird though as the main KODU page suggests it's compatible with Windows 10: https://www.kodugamelab.com/about/ Anyone confirm or deny?
DJ-1701 Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Well, I just installed XMA and Kodu on my Windows 10 x64 Education machine and it runs, and I can go into a world. So I would assume so. 1
mikeprice Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 Just tried on my home PC and it seems to work fine - part of the install process (I used the EXE not the MSI but I assume they are the same) installed XNA. At my previous school I created a few test PCs and tested all the software on Windows 10 - I am certain I installed Kodu on them and it worked fine. I got one of the kids to try it out and he spent quite a while on Kodu and it seemed to work fine
BKGarry Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I have it installed on Windows 10 LTSB (I know, don't start on me with that one, it is a bridging deployment before full windows 10 education to all) and it works for us :-)
sted Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 iirc you need dotnet 3.5 installed for it to work which isnt installed by default on win 10 1
robjduk Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 we install both XNA framework 3.1 and 4.0 and works perfectly on Windows 10 LTSB 2016 (LTSB is the nuts btw)
TheRobins Posted March 28, 2018 Posted March 28, 2018 I have just rolled it out on to my Windows 10 Edu - 1709 image and during the install it came with the XNA framework, works a treat.
