mavhc Posted March 16, 2018 Posted March 16, 2018 Ooh, android 5.1, so up to date. How many security flaws will that have? So, LED backlight, 70" is 200W, so 13485 cm^2, so 67 cm^2 = 1W, surprised they think it's hot.
BenQ_Support Posted March 19, 2018 Posted March 19, 2018 Thank you guys for all your input ... I think I'm going to get C Touch and Clevertouch in on trial to see what teachers prefer more. I have to say I am leaning more towards the C Touch at the price for a fully installed unit coming in under £2'500 with 7 years on-site Warranty sounds like a great product at a good price! Hi, Let me know if you decide to look at other options. The BenQ screen also comes with Oktopus software or as was mentioned above there may be 3rd party software options also. I'm confident we can offer a fully installed price below this via one of our approved suppliers and always happy to arrange an on-site demo.
SEdwards Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Being married to a teacher and from speaking to many other teachers... I'd say almost all of them don't use the interactive side of interactive whiteboards. In fact most rooms I've been in have got a normal whiteboard to the side of their interactive whiteboard. We're going down the route of purchasing commercial grade TVs which are around £400-£600.. we've had rave reviews so far. Saves a hell of a lot of money considering the cheapest interactive touchscreen I've seen is around £1300-£1500.
mavhc Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 Agreed, so, what 65" 4k TVs can survive being punched, and have decent controls for setup, and are matte?

Teachers in primary use them for everything, secondary and HE not so much.
Helen25 Posted March 20, 2018 Posted March 20, 2018 (edited) There is a massive difference between primary and secondary use of boards. Can agree there, I'm primary and whilst doing HNC computing managed to totally flummox my tutor by using the board interactively. He'd NEVER seen it done before and he was a computing lecturer. I, being basic , hadn't done my course work presentation so did it "on the fly" - I did get to come top of the class for innovative approach! Edit: I've got 17 Promethean touch panels currently, having replaced ActivPanels about 3 years ago, 5 year warranty and one only had problems because teacher ripped hdmi cable out the wall! Within secondary there are big differences from department to department. Our Maths team are proper IWB power users.

Alis_Klar Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 see this thread where I tell you whats wrong with the BenQ RP653K vs the RP653 (older but better model) with identification photos so you can tell if you have a K or not. http://www.edugeek.net/forums/hardware/191368-benq-rp653k-65-interactive-flat-panel-display.html#post1708318
mavhc Posted October 4, 2018 Posted October 4, 2018 Would explain why the Benq screens are much cheaper, hopefully a firmware update fixes it, @BenQ_Royce might know It's hard to type maths, easier to write it, although with AI https://webdemo.myscript.com/views/main/math.html 1
BenQ_Royce Posted October 7, 2018 Posted October 7, 2018 Would explain why the Benq screens are much cheaper, hopefully a firmware update fixes it, @BenQ_Royce might know we don't locally control the model naming and just adding a K suffix didn't really explain the changes. current models are the RM6501K which is a Mainstream model replacing the RP653K in a running change at the moment, this offers a great price for a 4K 65" screen then the RP654K is a Premium model that has a higher feature count and would be similar to the RP653 that the OP had a preference for. (but with a 4K panel) the OSD will be different on both so its clearer which model it is. hope this is a little clearer... (with regards to OPS not switching off I believe this can be done in the service menu as I had similar issues with a 75", PM me and i'll send to our local FAE team, and they can help)
Alis_Klar Posted October 11, 2018 Posted October 11, 2018 (edited) @BenQ_Royce I admit i'm not sure what model the model with 6 buttons and three USB ports is. Can you identify it from the picture below? Also can the successor to this be purchased as would buy more if they were like that one. Think there was £500 differencein price and was purchased 6 months previously to other model. Edited October 11, 2018 by Alis_Klar
nathan Posted October 15, 2018 Posted October 15, 2018 We are a group of 13 primaries and they make good use of the interactive side. We only use promeathean boards and get a fair decent price. Even the android side is starting to be used, well activ cast and the build in browser.
BenQ_Royce Posted October 25, 2018 Posted October 25, 2018 looks like a RP653 (not K) we don't have that design any more, but the nearest in higher spec than our mainstream model would be RP654K. @BenQ_Adrian, agree?
