Little known websites or software

I love finding out about new websites that are useful or software that isn't that well known but hugely helpful.

In that vain i would like to know about what sites or software you feel are worth sharing and why.

 

My contribution

ninite - lets me install software with little to no hasstle

chocolatey - command prompt system to update/install software on a machine.

Wox - really useful search tool for windows that acts a bit like macs spotlight

Not sure I'd class the first two as "little known".

 

I'll add:

 

Ketarin. Needs some setting up, but can update your installer files with a single click (and install).

SUMo. Scans for out-of-date software.

Desktop Ticker. Scrolling ticker for those that prefer RSS feeds to social media.

The Movie Database. Nowhere near as comprehensive as IMDb, but they have message boards!

Not sure if these are widely known about but Greenshot and Sharex are great screenshot applications that have helped me numerous times when creating user guides or sending some instructions over in an email.

Greenshot is a saviour here, I've been slowly replacing the snipping tool for it as it's much easier and neater!

 

My software contribution is WSUS offline updater, the program pulls all software updates for Windows and Office, and has a separate program that can be used to install all updates in one go, very useful for one-off OS installs!

If you want a neat time waster, this website uses spotifys engine to move you from one artist to the next:

Boil the Frog

 

You can see it here, where it goes from Rock to early 1900's classical piano pretty seamlessly (also allows for the playlist to be saved to Spotify with 1 button) in 24 steps. If you're not sure what music you wanna listen to, plug two vastly different artists you like in and see what you get.

Crystaldiskinfo - Useful to see HDD information

Driverstoreexplorer - Deletes all old drivers from driverstore in win32 - Managed to clear 10gb of disk space from each machine ive used this on.

Especially if you've got small SSD's, rapr was a lifesaver for me. Turns out RealTek installs loooots of versions of their audio drivers, about 5 different versions. I used it to delete all of the older versions (which came to about 22 gig!!)
