ass17 Posted May 11, 2018 Author Posted May 11, 2018 we are just about to start with it, during mocks they loved it i was wondering if there was anyway of formatting the text into like a newspaper layout or leaflet formatting. were trying to find out if the students would lose marks on it not being in this type of format. any info back would be lovely As far as I’m aware JCQ only specify font size minimum 12 but not font face type. They also specify double line spacing but no mention of text being justified in way of newspaper style. My exam officer would have told me if so. Glad you are enjoying the software :-) - - - Updated - - - As far as I’m aware JCQ only specify font size minimum 12 but not font face type. TheWindowsMan Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 thank you very much just what i needed, and we have now got it running from network location so we now have no need for specific exam laptops that always end up outdated. exam officer/invigilators/students/teachers/techs love it!!!
RLR Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 We've been using it since last year and it's been great. I suggest going to the new thread and getting the updated versions. I will say that we use to get the occasional crash when running it from a network share. Since we swapped to running a login script to copy the software locally it's been much more stable. No Crashes. I think this may be a Windows 10 thing as we have another piece of Finance Software that runs from a shared drive that has only started crashing for users on Windows 10.

A very small number of people have suggest infrequent crashes on windows 10 running over a network share. I suppose it will depend on your network environment and traffic, desktop OS.. When have run it from a UNC path for two years with no crashes, but difference being we’re a windows 7 and heavily filter network traffic between buildings or VLANs. I will probably start a new thread after the exams are over in 7 weeks or so.... 1
Garacesh Posted May 15, 2018 Posted May 15, 2018 An issue has just been raised about EWP with regard to the paper they're currently sitting (and I'm sorry if this has been asked/answered before!) What about questions that just say 'tick here' or whatever, those that ask the student to mark an answer rather than write one? For now I've just advised them to write it out, giving an obvious indication that's the option they want, eg: 4a) Option C: The solution will become more acidic. Not a problem with the software in of itself, I'm just wondering if there's perhaps a better way?
badders Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Feature request: Display current filename We have students who have multiple papers in one exam sitting that they can switch between. 1

Garacesh Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I'd just tick the paper version and hand both in .... They can do that? I figured it was an all or nothing thing, they either word-process their exam or they do the paper exam.
ass17 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 .... They can do that? I figured it was an all or nothing thing, they either word-process their exam or they do the paper exam. No they can use the exam paper but the exam invigilator will specify on the cover sheet that the exam paper was used.
ass17 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 Feature request: Display current filename We have students who have multiple papers in one exam sitting that they can switch between. I’m sure I can do that somewhere in the software [emoji1][emoji1303] 1
BillyAB Posted May 17, 2018 Posted May 17, 2018 Feature request: Display current filename We have students who have multiple papers in one exam sitting that they can switch between. I second this, we had 3 papers in one sitting yesterday, it was an RE Short course I think.
ass17 Posted May 17, 2018 Author Posted May 17, 2018 Feature request: Display current filename We have students who have multiple papers in one exam sitting that they can switch between. All done! Will be released soon, next week, with a loads of other major improvements! 2
MkII Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 This might be a personal preference... I like to see a space/ border around the text area - not a line but just space so that the text doesn't run right to the edge... as it appears on the print out I guess.
badders Posted May 18, 2018 Posted May 18, 2018 (edited) I second this, we had 3 papers in one sitting yesterday, it was an RE Short course I think. Yes this was the same with us. Edited May 18, 2018 by badders

Hi, There is a small 3 pixel border around it already in white to match the text area. Is it not noticeable? 1
ass17 Posted May 18, 2018 Author Posted May 18, 2018 I’m going to release new version today, this afternoon.

ass17 Posted May 18, 2018 Author Posted May 18, 2018 Hi All, This is a new thread for Download links and change logs for each version ONLY. 1
ass17 Posted May 18, 2018 Author Posted May 18, 2018 Download Link https://drive.google.com/open?id=1_NXWeQYWapPlZYvgOEUrbD4WhN61qrw3 Change Log 2.1.4.4 Added – The current file in use now has its full path displayed in the toolstrip replacing the TOOL TIP message. If no file is present or you have yet to save your work the Tool Tip message with still display. 2.1.4.3 Fixed – Recompiled the main Icon for EWP to help reduce the overall footprint and the EXE file has been reduced from 2.7MB to 811KB, a massive saving. 2.1.4.2 Fixed - Reduced the DPI size of the CoverSheet by 50% so that it take up less memory when rendering and printing. 2.1.4.1 Added - If printing multiple copies, collation is set to true as default and cannot be overridden. For those that don’t know what collation is, in essence: Collated printing means that the printed material is sorted into a correctly assembled sequence – and if you are printing multiple copies it will then print them as sets of documents, not as single pages. 2.1.4.0 Fixed - Constantly printing would result in a build-up of memory resources, when they should have been released. 2.1.3.9 Added - Coversheet now prints as many copies as you specified in the printer options when printing, before it only printed just once. 2.1.3.8 Added - Cleaned up code when using fonts and substitute fonts to print the cover sheets. 2.1.3.7 Added - When pressing the print button, your work will now save before printing, a recovery copy (Previous Version) is also created.
