Yea i need SWGFL (or RM) to add the DNS Settings. I added that yesterday and verified it...

Once the domain is verified, as long as you don't ask for the MX record to be updated your e-mail will still get delivered to your existing mail server.

 

Don't worry too much about the spf error, as we've had the same warning for over a year now.

Just been on http://www.dnswatch.info and looked up our domain name and it has the TXT of office 365 listed.

Pretty sure it shouldn’t go on a DC, but could be wrong.

From what I remember of doing this, it's fine on a DC. It's quite a slim application, and is easy to reinstall, move etc. Just make sure you set up the accounts correctly - there are two for AADC (one in Azure) and the permissions etc are important.

Need to find the nsnet.net upn. The is the only UPN listed in domain and trusts..

If you want users to sync with their AD credentials, you'll need to make sure their UPN suffixes match the external DNS domain too. Easy one to do, and they can be changed in bulk.

Something in Office 365 is not happy with DNS. Getting slighly annoyed as it was stating setup was complete

No you have done something wrong as it shouldn’t need to use Microsoft’s NS.

 

When doing the DNS bit did you select that you will manage the DNS or did you select that Microsoft can do it for you?

Do the users have the email field set in AD?

And also do they have the UPN set to the correct Office 365 mail domain?

The upload being wrong is dependant on whats set in their proxy addresses locally.

 

But you DNS seems to be wrong as you're still using exa as part of the MX records etc. Did you change ISP or are you running two?

Just importing users. Exchange is not being setup currently. (in time it will be)

 

All email address are correct in AD, Not changing the MX as we are using onsite exchange.

It's not the email address but the proxyaddress attribute that sets the primary fields in o365.

 

e.g. If you have [email protected] as an email, it'll still pull as [email protected] etc etc unless you set their proxy over to SMTP:[email protected] as well

Ok. Been speaking to support. AD connect wasn't pulling the right information across. After a remote session it now pulling the right info for most of the users. Only some of our Year 11 that got a @onms.com address which im looking in to.

 

Still got DNS problems but will be until the services are setup im guessing. (we are doing most of this our selfs where we can)

When we first used 365, we had to set up a UPN suffix for our school domain name (instead of xxx.internal) and set the users to have it as well as their school e-mail address in the mail field.

 

We only use the proxyaddress if a user has 2 e-mail accounts (such as an alias for a name change)

PowerShell using the Azure AD Module.

 

Unfortunately, it can't be done through the GUI.
