simonw Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 I've got a number of iPad 2 that the school purchased back in 2011/12 and its nearing the time I think they need to be replaced. I'm thinking that we could offer them to staff and parents to purchase, checking on ebay they are going for between £50 to £100. What would you do with them, what other options could I be looking at?
3s-gtech Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 we could offer them to staff and parents to purchase If you do this, make sure your paperwork is watertight and legally sound - no warranty, no service support, no returns, nothing more than an iPad, a 30 pin cable and a pat on the back. Don't supply the charger blocks unless you've PAT tested them recently. Otherwise, this will haunt you for years: That iPad you supplied to me has never worked! The school ripped me off! I'm going to the local rag/Facebook/Mumsnet! 1
Katy Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 It might be worth seeing what an IT recycler will pay for them - most offer cashback for any items with resale value. Obviously it will be less than you could get yourself ebaying etc them but you then remove all the extra work/hassle involved with selling them, collecting the money, dealing with complaints etc. You can then work out if it's worth the extra money you'd make selling to staff vs the amount of hassle it will be. 1

PotNoodleTech Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 Keep using them! Still using our ipad 2's. You can do plenty with them for now.
deano3693 Posted November 15, 2017 Posted November 15, 2017 We sold our old iPads to staff for £50 a pop after offering them internally for departments to purchase if they wished. 1

synaesthesia Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 My primaries tend to give them down to EYFS, still work well for watching videos and basic apps. 1
speckytecky Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Last time I asked our Apple Account Manager they were offering a circa £70 trade in (as long as it was sound). 1

simonw Posted November 17, 2017 Author Posted November 17, 2017 I won't say you're one Jack short of a pack.......but a great idea, thanks! The only problems I have is that I'll have to take them all out of their Griffin cases to shuffle them and I've only got 30!
