gpjt Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Probably an easy fix for those of you in the know! New class teacher to the school has been added to SIMS and given Class Teacher group access. When they login and click the take register button from the top menu navigation it gives them a blank page. How can i change this so that it shows for them when logging in? The teacher has been allocated the class in SIMS. Managed a work around for now going through the edit register option, but could do with sorting this properly for them. Any help would be appreciated. TIA
3s-gtech Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Have the correct staff initials been assigned (Classroom Details link)?
gpjt Posted September 5, 2017 Author Posted September 5, 2017 It looks as if some staff have class codes and some don't!
3s-gtech Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Hmmm. That code is what should link the staff member to the imported timetable - no code, no class lists. They need to match what's in Nova-T from your timetabler (unless you use another system entirely).
CAM Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Have you changed your timetable structure and remembered to run Tools -> Lesson Monitor Options -> Lesson Monitor Setup to define your AM/PM periods?
gpjt Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 Managed to get it sorted this morning and was all down to how the accounts were created. Thank you!
LeonardIngle Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Managed to get it sorted this morning and was all down to how the accounts were created. Thank you! Hi, Apologies for the thread necro here but we've recently brought a primary school into the Trust and they are using SIMS my previous position was MI Officer for the college I work in now as an Network Systems Officer, so naturally it fell on me to look into their SIMS setup, and I feel i'm seeing this issue aswell. When a teacher auto signs in and clicks on the little take register button no registers appear, we can get around this by going to Focus and Edit Marks and finding the class, however this is not the most elegant way. Would you mind sharing what you did to resolve the issue? Thanks in advance
Steve21 Posted September 17, 2020 Posted September 17, 2020 Sounds like said teacher isn't assigned to the class so it isn't populating their classes etc, and effectively you're doing it as a cover teacher Are the teachers set as supervisor/teacher of the class? (If you search for a teacher and go to staff groups it should show what they're set as like main class teacher, class teacher, supervisor etc) Many thanks, Steve

From what I can see if I go into the current structure and drill down into the year group and classes I can see the teacher as the assigned teacher. with the exception of a middle name there from Personnel records and without in manage users. initially this happened with just this user, however it appears to be becoming site wide. Thanks
RichP Posted September 18, 2020 Posted September 18, 2020 Things to check: When you create the user in System Manager, you need to search for staff and find them select them in the list that appear below. Entering their details and hitting continue won't match to their personnel account and subsequently any timetable. It's worth checking Focus, Person, Manage Classroom Staff to make sure they are active for the current year, have a staff code and working pattern. Also, if you hit the Timetable link on their Personnel record does it have anything on it? 1

Hi, From what I can see there is an account in Personnel, and an account in Manager Users, the two don't seem to be linked. When I go into Manage Users and find the record and click Classroom Staff Details and add in the class code relating to the record in Personnel it tells me its already in use. I assume there's no way around this without flattening both the Personnel and User records and starting again? Thanks
coolhands Posted September 21, 2020 Posted September 21, 2020 I had similar here, maybe some help: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/mis-systems/201310-assign-sims-roles-staff.html#post1816018
