Hi all, I'm just in the process of finalising the Spring submission and I'm slightly stuck on one issue regarding a student who left on 06/09/23. There was a clerical error regarding the leaving date and an exclusion record, so once sorted it left " - " marks for the AM and PM session on the 6th. I've run the Db Diagnostics which usually picks up erroneous / missing marks and fixes them however for this record it will not see the 6th as being Z marks. Has anyone come across this before? I'm reluctant to put any marks in e.g. C as that will likely throw up questions. Thanks in advance

When I click on that I get a message along the lines of SQL targets cannot be created until a target database has been setup. On the first menu I am unable to manually add in any details to add the SIMS server in.

Makes sense, is that manually into an SQL table or into SOLUS itself? I've gone through every menu to see where I could add it in and the only place I reckon it could be won't let me.

Thanks for the reply. I'll take a look at our Firewall to see if anything is getting stopped. It seems odd that when I click the update button in the main SOLUS settings it alerts me to X amount of updates its found e.g. SIMS 7.200.35 etc. Yet they don't appear in the main upgrades list. Could it be that SOLUS isn't recognising that SIMS is installed on the server SOLUS is on? In the targets list the servers aren't listed as any SIMS or SQL instances etc.

Hi, I did this method and it has worked however now SOLUS is having one hell of a struggle to see that the server has SIMS on it and allowing me to pull down the updates I need.. multiple reboots and restarts of the SOLUS services seem to make no difference.

Hi all, We have recently taken over a small site that had an IT contract with a 3rd party who managed their SIMS install etc. As we're now in control we are having to learn how SIMS works and i've been tasked with it. I need to get SOLUS upto the latest version however when I run the application and go through the steps once it gets to the SQLPackage launch it starts, hangs and then fails and rollsback with a failure message. In Eventviewer I see this; "Product: SOLUS 3 Deployment Server Database -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor. Action LaunchSqlPackage, location: C:\Program Files (x86)\Solus3\Deployment Server Database\, command: **********" I've looked online through various posts and tried each method yet i've had no success. We have another site who are still tied into an existing SIMS support contract and they remoted into the server and I watched as they performed the upgrade and it worked fine, so i'm stumped as to why its not working for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Apologies for rezzing an old thread. We've recently taken over a site and we are running SOLUS upgrades and we're coming across this error when trying to upgrade the SOLUS db, i've gone through and followed as many steps as I can that could be the possible cause but i've had no luck, any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, From what I can see there is an account in Personnel, and an account in Manager Users, the two don't seem to be linked. When I go into Manage Users and find the record and click Classroom Staff Details and add in the class code relating to the record in Personnel it tells me its already in use. I assume there's no way around this without flattening both the Personnel and User records and starting again? Thanks

That makes complete sense, i'll try using the Root CA and see if that gets it sorted. As you said it should be much simpler than using SCEP and NDES etc.

Right okay! One more question regarding that as i've just had a word with my manager about it and he had the same response that pushing the certificate from the DC would do it. We use PEAP and MSCHAP-V2 as authentication methods, now Lightspeed has that option available (PEAP) but looking at their documentation it seems to read that I need to have an SCEP server on my network dishing out the certificates... it seems like an awfully convoluted process just to automatically join the WiFi... am I going down a Rabbit hole with that, or is it necessary?

Ahh okay so would I be right in saying that when I set NPS up and I set the certificate for PEAP etc. As a signed cert from one of our DCs... instead of using the one from our NPS server I should just use the one directly from the DC? We also use Lightspeed to manage our iPads, Xirrus is just our WiFi solution using RADIUS via NPS.

We've recently implemented a Xirrus solution at a primary school using RADIUS through NPS and i'm trying to get our iPads to connect seamlessly. I have created a generic account in AD which is also in the group that is allowed access via NPS, and I believe I have exported the correct certificate from the NPS server to the iPads via certificate upload however it fails to auto connect and when I try to connect manually it works but only after a prompt to trust the certificate. Ideally i'd like to get past this as the students are as young as 5 so its a tideous task for them and it seems staff too... Any advice and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Steve, Thanks for your reply. From what I can see if I go into the current structure and drill down into the year group and classes I can see the teacher as the assigned teacher. with the exception of a middle name there from Personnel records and without in manage users. initially this happened with just this user, however it appears to be becoming site wide. Hi, Apologies for the thread necro here but we've recently brought a primary school into the Trust and they are using SIMS my previous position was MI Officer for the college I work in now as an Network Systems Officer, so naturally it fell on me to look into their SIMS setup, and I feel i'm seeing this issue aswell. When a teacher auto signs in and clicks on the little take register button no registers appear, we can get around this by going to Focus and Edit Marks and finding the class, however this is not the most elegant way. Would you mind sharing what you did to resolve the issue? Thanks in advance
