dapaulio Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 (edited) Recently acquired an apple company phone. Never been a big fan of apple and never really had one or used any of their services. However now that I have one I may as well utilise its potential e.g. The free podcasts is something I am interested in that are released on various topics including internet security etc. Can anyone offer any suggestions on good podcasts to download. DalekSec Posted July 25, 2017 Posted July 25, 2017 Colleague of mine always spoke highly of RunAsRadio, listened to it daily! Home Page - RunAsRadio 1
karldenton Posted July 26, 2017 Posted July 26, 2017 Came across IT career energizer. The one by Andrew Bettany is a good listen. 1
browolf Posted October 18, 2018 Posted October 18, 2018 Everyone here should listen to "Reply All" featuring all kinds of computer/internet mysteries and stories. 1

rom1984 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 The Joe Rogan Podcast - good for long lengths and some interesting guests The Co-Main Event Podcast - best MMA podcast there is! Breaking Down Security Podcast -pretty good bunch and about 40-50mins long. Usually every week I listen to Packet Pushers now and again if its something that interests me (Networking Podcast) Defensive Security Podcast - Pretty good but not always weekly. Mainly around data breaches Section 9 Cyber Security - Ok - pretty low level and not very frequent. They gave me some ideas for OWASP security that I used in an interview so gotta give them some credit I have a long drive to work!
ICTDirect_Dave Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 The Infinite Monkey Cage is by far my favourite - Robin Ince & Brian Cox gather scientists and comics to discuss various hot topics covering all fields of science. Hilarious, informative and very addictive. Drivetime confessions - Another classic with hundreds of episodes. The weekly collection of confessions read out by the superb Simon Mayo during Drivetime on Radio 2. Almost always Very funny! 1
elsiegee40 Posted October 23, 2018 Posted October 23, 2018 There's a lot from Radio 4 that I enjoy 'm another Infinite Monkey Cage Fan and also enjoy The Museum of Curiosity. Chain Reaction (where one famous person interviews another and the following week the interviewee becomes interviewer) I also listen to: Radio 4 comedy ... The Now Show, The News Quiz, Just a Minute, The Unbelievable Truth, I'm sorry I haven't a clue.. From our own correspondent - Journalist giving a personal account and story not mainstream news The Archers
browolf Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 This guy's stories about moonshine smuggling in the backwaters of Georgia are like something out of a movie. https://www.stitcher.com/podcast/rob-gokee/mitchum https://itunes.apple.com/gb/podcast/mitchum-tales-of-a-moonshine-bootlegger-in-georgia/id1419742750?mt=2
FragglePete Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Listening more to Podcasts on my commute in the car than the radio these days. Favorites I'm listening too are Dark Net Diaries (https://darknetdiaries.com/), the TWiT.TV network (https://twit.tv/) produce a couple that I listen too (This Week in Tech and Windows Weekly) - very American based in some of the topics but it all has an influence on IT global so does make for interesting listening and one I've started listening too is 'Smashing Security' (https://www.smashingsecurity.com/) - a bit more light hearted. Good to get some other recommendations here. Pete
ICTDirect_Dave Posted November 28, 2018 Posted November 28, 2018 Thanks to John Lloyd on BBC Radio 2 this morning for reminding me that 'No Such Thing as a Fish' exists! Another cracker!
DalekSec Posted December 5, 2018 Posted December 5, 2018 Sorry to highjack this a bit! Anyone know of any good IT based series (not the horror film IT) around 30mins an episode? Atm i listen to audiobooks in the car but i think it will be good to broaden my IT knowledge a bit aswell. As much as i love Eric Idle he doesn't know much about DHCP
SteveBentley Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Point of order - you don't need an iPhone or iPod to access podcasts 1
FishCustard Posted December 6, 2018 Posted December 6, 2018 Point of order - you don't need an iPhone or iPod to access podcasts But there's no podcast app for Android????? /s (Seriously - someone I worked with actually said that, as if only apps that come on the phone are available. And by 'worked with' I mean in a technical capacity.)
