[sims] Do I need to deploy the Sims Summer update before the school breaks up for summer?

I have been sent an email from my LA to say that they have released Sims to my schools in Solus3, but it does have some issues and they will send me the patches when they have them. It sounds like they will be deploying to their schools this weekend.

 

I would rather wait until a) I have those patches and b) the middle of August, to deploy, as I am going away next week and don't really want to have any Sims issues on my hands.

 

Does Sims need to be installed before the school breaks up for the summer? Does it have something in the update that will be needed? or can I wait?

It can wait. The only thing to watch out for is the exams changes for results day.

My EO said it was needed now to prepare for results asap. We installed it, with no problems, and with a happy EO.

(We have sixth form, and run BTECs. That may be the urgency)

I should have put its for primary schools. I will call the LA on Monday just to double check.

We had to do it for our Exams Officer (we all obey our Exams Officer as she is not someone to cross!) to enter some information. Didn't question too much, just pushed it out on Tuesday and it's been fine.

We did it early last week with no issues so far (except the normal few machines with incompatible database, where SOLUS3 didn't do it's job).
