We lease our Smoothwall through them as we didn't have the budget to purchase outright when we got it, but we badly needed a replacement for our ISA2004 box. As far as I know, everything went through ok and we got the kit after it was all signed off by the head and deputies and finance manager. Funding4Education even called me to ask if we were happy with the service that Smoothwall offered! Other than the Smoothwall, we have not got anything else through them.

If I have to run on the spot in the evening to get up to my required Fitbit goal, which isn't often I like to combine lazy living with fitness and play computer games at the same time... The Nintendo Switch is perfect for this as when it is docked on the TV, you can then use the two joycon controllers one in each hand as you jog on the spot! 😎

Has anyone completely removed all trees and grass from their farm? Do they all re-spawn when the seasons change? Grass is important when you have animals (with a silo), so I don't want that to disappear and I don't want to have to go out the farm to harvest wood (except the secret wood to the south-west of the farm for hardwood). At the moment, I replant most of the seeds that fall from trees where they fall in my farm, but eventually when I need more space I'm going to have to reduce the amount of trees and grass.

I agree @denium it is relaxing to play. I saw it on PC, but decided to get it for my Switch instead, I am pleased that I did, and although some of the controls are obviously better on the PC with the mouse (for clicking crops to harvest or rocks to mine, I think in all, it is a great game to be able to take out of the office and into the lounge, or hook up the Switch to the TV and play on the big screen, and as it is family friendly with the kids running around in the evening I can't do that with many other games.

We use Insight UK, always been happy with Insight, for all of their services and product sales. If you get yourself an Account Manager, they will be able to put you through to their Microsoft/Licensing specialist.

When we moved to O365, we had the same problem. Someone had created an O365 tenant with our domain (I suspected an ICT teacher), but had not finished the process and had certainly not made any notes as to passwords etc. In the end, we had to go through the process of "Forgot your Password?", which required a TXT record created on our .sch.uk DNS, so Microsoft could verify that the password reset had come from us. Once we had access we were able to delete the tenant and carry on with the project using our new/proper one.

Hi all, Just to let you all know that the live stream went very well, so thank you all for your suggestions! We went with @Techie-v2 suggestion. We installed vMix then streamed in HD to YouTube as a private stream and connected to the stream in each classroom. We had some DSLR camera's with proper external microphones connected via HDMI into a USB3 video capture device, which vMix pushed to YouTube. There was about a 30 second delay from actual live (in the room with the speaker) to the YouTube-"Live", so when students clapped or laughed or whatever in the actual room, you'd hear it happen around the block a little while later, but that was fine. Thank you all, some good ideas. I like the look of the VLC idea (I didn't realise that it could open a camera and stream it), but not sure the best way to set it up at the moment, only had a quick play though. Any more ideas, please let me know :-)

Hey all, Looking for ideas, past experiences, options, opinions, etc etc: Basically, in a couple weeks we have a guest speaker coming in and the head would like approx. 300 students to see it. For reasons that I cannot fathom, it has been decided NOT to use one of the 3 halls we have here that are big enough to hold this event (main hall and sorts halls). I’ve been asked to stream a live feed of the speech/demonstrations/whatever is happening from one classroom, to projectors/speakers in 15 other rooms with individual classes rather than year groups. Ideas I have come up with so far, and equipment that I have access to right now: 15 Epson projectors that are all networked and capable of the Epson Network Multi-Projection USB Webcam (non-HD) with built in microphone Encoding software (using the free version of Microsoft Expression Encoder, which is not capable of encoding HD content without a licence) Some budget available for another webcam or DV-Camera, USB3 Video Encoding device, tripod, software… but not too much. The best laptop we have is an i5 with 16GB RAM… not great but there. 15 laptops, enough for one for each room if needing to connect to a media stream with VLC/WMP I have tried viewing the webcam on a laptop, and using the Epson Network multi-projection, which works but the Audio isn’t great, plus I had to use the Microsoft Expression Encoder and connecting locally to the stream, making it full screen… which is totally convoluted and over complex. Any ideas for software/hardware/etc would be most appreciated. Thanks all!! Ash

We did it early last week with no issues so far (except the normal few machines with incompatible database, where SOLUS3 didn't do it's job).

I still use IDE cables to connect stuff to the header connection on my R-Pi !! There's still a use for it yet, you just haven't thought of it!!

I have got BluRay to play in VLC at home on W10, but like you said, I had to copy the AACS files into the correct places before it would do anything.

I used to work for Fujitsu Support Services, who had an NHS PC Support contract (and McDonalds, WHSmiths, and a few others) about ~13-15 Years ago. Where is the best place to look for job adverts, the NHS website, or local Hospital websites?] Thanks.

I had tried it as you suggested with the UniFi's set to NPS for Auth and Smoothwall for Accounting, but didn't get the desired result; Perhaps I had something set wrong. I also tried having both Auth and Acc on the UniFi pointing at the NPS server, and then on the "Connection Request Policies" have it forwarding any Accounting data coming from the BYOD SSID to the Smoothwall... this didn't seem to work either.

Hi, Did you get this working? I'm trying this now and cant seem to figure it out. Like you, we are running UniFi. I dont think it forwards the Framed-IP-Address attribute as it doesn't have an IP until it is connected anyway. Is there another way? Thanks

This is exactly what I want to do too. Currently, I have NPS which allows staff and 6th form onto the BYOD SSID but then they have to log in again on the smoothwall authentication page.

I also did the Cyber Security course and purchased the certificate, but I forgot to do anything with it (like show it to the line manager, or try to get some reimbursement form the training budget)... so if you do get one, make sure you do something with it!! Mine did take a while to come through the post though.

Ok, thanks. The reason I ask is because everything I read about it says that it is mostly for SMB or remote office locations and was wondering if it was up to the job for us to replace all of our servers into one box for 1500 students, 150 staff, 600 client pc's (currently 7 physical and 25ish virtual servers).

I'm sorry but I can't help either, however I am interested in this too as we were looking at the VRTX also. Out of interest, what is the size of your school (sorry to take it briefly off topic!!)
