psydii Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 seems that the entire lgfl is uncontactable. fiza Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 We are in Hillingdon and we no internet through LGfL this morning. Support phone line is also down.
rad Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Emails work via Outlook but no web browsing here in a Hillingdon School
fiza Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 This is the longest outage in over 5 years with LGfL.
thebatman Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Little off topic, but this is one thing that is stopping us going "Cloud" for a lot of things. Our backup line is only a ADSL line with 4Mbps Down and 0.5Mbps up on a good dry day.
fiza Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Tweet from John Jackson #LGfL #Core has gone down It looks like a significant serious of hardware failures We are all hands to the pump trying to resolve this 1
reprised Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 We're in Barnet and it's down here. Can't get through on phones but they have a msg on twitter.
GuyJD Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 I'm getting email via webmail but no other browser based traffic.
speckledegg Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Down in Harrow too - Try changing the DNS on your machine to Googles Public one - internet seemed to work again using that!
psydii Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 https://netsight.ja.net/TrafficLightPages/483 (NEN connections all report up) Yes the first time in five (possibly six) years we've had a problem for more than 15 minutes. Hopefully they should be able to bring things back online soon, they have multiple redundant paths, so ought to be able to cut out the dead/broken stuff and restore at least some service pretty quickly. Suspect that they are having to get hands on with kit, and traversing London in rush-hour is not the quickest. I would be surprised/disappointed if we didn't see some services being restored within the next 60 minutes.
GuyJD Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Down in Harrow too - Try changing the DNS on your machine to Googles Public one - internet seemed to work again using that! I'm not even getting a ping reply from google's dns, I'm getting replys from all the LGfL dns servers though :/
interslice Posted March 13, 2017 Posted March 13, 2017 Internet and MailProtect back up in Harrow, NW London.
