elsiegee40 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 I thought I may as well start the discussion off. The brother of one of my son's friends is playing for England U20. I'll be supporting Wales as ever!
jslate1980 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Hopefully under Eddie Jones management, England will be going for another grand slam this year. But there seems to be a lot of injuries this year.
ZeroHour Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 M'on the Scots! We have done well in the first half against Ireland.
6Foot2 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 BBC commentary just now: ...Devin Toner, I think he's the only rugby player visible from space... Come on Ireland! 1
ZeroHour Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Phew! Ireland were dominating us in the second half but that last 10 minutes made all the difference. Ireland played very well in the second half, I honesty thought we were toast.
stevejp Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 Well.... After today, think it's going to be a close call - can't see there being any grand slam this year, unless England play a heck of a lot better than they did today! Not sure Scotland can sustain that for four more matches - but isn't it good to see them play like that again!
teejay Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Fantastic win by Scotland, well deserved, just a shame their coach is leaving just as they start improving. Yes England were very poor, but it's great to see that they didn't give up and managed to scrape through. So Italy v Wales, will be interesting to see how Italy do now they've got decent coaches. One benefit of not working at the moment is I can watch the Super Bowl tonight ;-)
mrbios Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Hoping Wales smash the Italians today I support Wales in the Rugby and England in the football. Welsh mother, English father, mum likes rugby, dad likes football. Perfect I'm glad the game isn't on till 2, nicely timed for just after the Leeds match. Love having a full day of sports ahead. 1
mikeprice Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 watched the England match yesterday - really thought we had had it - and not sure we deserved to win just waiting for the start of the Wales match - my heart always supports Wales but my soul supports England
ZeroHour Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 Fantastic win by Scotland, well deserved, just a shame their coach is leaving just as they start improving. Yeah its sad this is Big Vern's last year, Gregor Townsend takes over this summer, hopefully he will do okay. Laidlaw is some kicker though and Hogg was excellent.
witch Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss Cymru Am Byth
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 Wales v England today. And exactly the right weather to stay inside in the warm and spend the entire afternoon watching rugby. (It hasn't stopped snowing all morning; although it's not sticking much fortunately)
mikeprice Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Well Italy are getting well and truly trounced by Ireland!
6Foot2 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Well Italy are getting well and truly trounced by Ireland! That match is over now (time's up, but they are still playing) Onto Wales-England... Edit: One more try for Ireland.
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 Well Italy are getting well and truly trounced by Ireland! Well and truly stuffed. At least they don't have a long journey home
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 And Leigh Halfpenny is sporting two black eyes before the match even started
6Foot2 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) Posting this now because I had paused the match to deal with an issue at home. All sorted now. No spoilers! I am watching on delay. Edited February 11, 2017 by 6Foot2 1
6Foot2 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 (edited) ...No spoilers! I am watching on delay. Edit: No longer on delay. Just thought that others may also be on (longer delay) Removed my spoiler comment. Sorry! Edited February 11, 2017 by 6Foot2
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 Good match to watch. Disappointed by the result. 1
6Foot2 Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Good match to watch. Disappointed by the result. It was all going so well. 1
teejay Posted February 11, 2017 Posted February 11, 2017 Really showed the Eddie Jones effect in that match, with any of the previous recent coaches Wales would've won by 20 plus points.
elsiegee40 Posted February 11, 2017 Author Posted February 11, 2017 Husband just said it makes up for the World Cup. And then muttered "Well it doesn't actually" We were both at Twickenham that day. That hurt is still there [emoji1]
elsiegee40 Posted February 12, 2017 Author Posted February 12, 2017 Settled down to watch France v Scotland. Go Scotland!
