yeah always water first then powder. I normally have 500ml water and 210g powder (3 scoops). I've always found it bitty from the seed stuff they put in there, so you kinda have to chew it too...

Alright, so, 350ml of water, 50g of huel, one regular-sized banana, blending, and then a bit of shaking gets me one pint of almost-fully-smooth huel. Nowhere near as gritty this second time around. It's still not quite something I'd chug, but I don't think you're supposed to anyway.

I think my blender just might not be suited towards using powder.

in my booklet it says that 3 scoops is equivalent to a small meal, around 600 cals I think... think the scoop is 70ml but I guess not necessarily 70g! Edited by Joanne

Yeah it's definitely a bit gritty regardless of what you do, but you get used to it ;)

Yeah, second time around it felt smooth going past my lips, but I could definitely feel the grittiness on my teeth. But those two days exhausted my trial pack, I'm still in two minds about buying into it properly. Knowing me I'll probably decide effit, it's worth a bash. Nothing to lose (except the cost of a big batch, I guess)

Well I may be starting this up again but I have thought I would give it a shot after some targeted FB adds.

I have a few DofE events coming up and I just thought, oh well, something to keep my energy up during the day and TBH I am not eating properly during the day at all and then end up getting Chocolate or other naughty bits out at about 10pm a couple of hours after dinner.

I have gone straight in for the "28 meal" pack and got a shaker bottle with it too, just to make sure I try to do it properly.

Blah, I still have soooo much of the stuff left.. Did it for about two weeks straight, but I've never been able to get the consistency right.. It was constantly 'bitty' and grainy and after a while I just lost my appetite for it. It left my teeth feeling horrible every time I had some.

I have mine when I'm short on time or feeling lazy. I find it's much smoother if it's whizzed in the old nutri-bullet. Also try using less huel for a thinner, easier to drink shake (so it won't touch your teeth!)

I have a knock-off bullet and I do use less huel (About 50g Huel to 350-400ml of water) but even when I up that to about 500mls it's still gritty :(

Just do Slimming World, been on it since Jan ish and its life changing ....

Can't be bothered with the cultish meetings and 'sins' :p

Huel isn't really about losing weight. It's just straight up meal replacement... but lots of calories and fat (from stuff like coconuts).

So could you make this in the morning take it too work and drink at lunchtime or would it go mank? I doubt my fellow office dwellers would appreciate a blender whilst working.

Yeah, just have it in a shaker and then you can give it a good shake before drinking. If you like it ice cold, stick it in the fridge too.

Hmm, I'm actually somewhat intrigued by this, I always miss breakfast, and lunch, and even when I don't, I eat very minimal and probably unhealthily, this might make a good alternative

Well, i had to get the unflavoured and unsweetened sample, so expected blandness and added some sugar and cocoa to counter it, blitzed it in the nutribullet as per peoples advice and took a little swig, firstly it tastes of porridge which I can't stand and secondly the texture is just like sloppy sandy porridge (think thick protein shake), I found myself chewing it. I stupidly thought I'd do it properly so brought no food in today to force myself to try the huel, think I'll just replace the huel with coffee for sustenance today.
