Don't you worry about it - this clearly works in Heinz/the ads favour. The Streisand Effect will see to it that the 'can song' will be revived.

Personally I'd forgotten all about it, and I haven't seen the advert in months. So it's just free publicity at this rate.

As someone who has had a can related injury, the ad made me cringe every time.

 

But the lame 'the apprentice' level attempt at making a viral hit makes me cringe harder. Glad its gone

I thought it was mad at first.

 

Then I realised the ad featured a bloke who emptied a can of beans into a pan and immediately started tapping it and throwing it around.

 

I know there are 'how to do this safely' videos, but we all know kids will copy it just as it is, but with an added visit to A&E.

 

Given it's viral on the net, I'm not sure what good a ban will do though.

I am concerned that there are no warnings about not pressing your face against the hot cooking rings when operating a cooker. Also there's a scene of a lady casually lounging on a sofa next to a remote without any warnings about falling asleep and potentially swallowing the remote.

Sarcasm appreciated, but your analogy is flawed.

 

If there were an ad with someone actually swallowing a remote or pressing their face on a cooker ring fair enough.

Small point - that is only really likely if the can was opened with one of those can openers that slice the whole top off

 

Heinz Bean tins have a ring pull that leaves a much safer edge - you would have to be very unlucky to cut yourself on that doing this thingy

 

However - yes you could cut yourself - and yes people that are that stupid do exist - in numbers apparently

I haven't but I have seen tin can injuries. Nasty! And quite easy to do, just a momentary lapse of concentration and claret everywhere!

As mentioned up-thread, the ring pull cans don't have a sharp "top" edge. The inner edge of the lip is unfinished, but it's like a blunt knife - you'd have to saw it back and forth to cut yourself.

As @mikeprice says, Heinz tins are probably safer than some due to the ring pull. Unfortunately idiots won't check out the tin for its safety features before doing it.

Yes been cut by tin cans but only twice and those were corned beef cans with the key that winds round it. God I shudder at the memory of it. Most folk would know to check tins when 'playing' with them but sadly it is the ones who do not that got the advert banned.

Wait what is this common sense you speak of? I always assumed when I bought a pack of nuts that look like nuts, smelled and tasted like nuts but was actually a pack of nut free chocolates.
