Just watched and totally amazed. Fantastic photography.

I was going to put this in the cool things thread, but somehow I suspect it might provoke further comment!

Sloths give a gentle start. Then komodo dragons and then marine iguanas and...

I experimented with the HD feed vs standard feed while this was on. This was much better in HD. Now to make sure that HD is always available on Sunday at 8:00 - 9:00...

This is one thing I have watched that has made me want a 4k TV. Absolutely stunning filming work. I really want to know how they got swimming with sloths and iguanas !

I remember watching the first series of Planet Earth, every week it showed me something in the natural world I had never seen before. Planet Earth 2 continues to do the same. I cant wait for next Sunday night.

HD is always better than SD by definition of there being more pixels?

We have a large TV (60", possibly) but we do not always have the option to watch a program in HD. I am always trying to persuade Mrs P to try the HD feed but, often, she 'can't be bothered' Last night's Planet Earth 2 was an opportunity to showcase HD in an attempt to get it used more often, when available.

We always use the HD rather than the SD. The sound is so much better, never mind the picture. It's a bit of a pain when the local news comes on, but that's all.

I put this on our sky planner to record a few days ago as I knew i'd be out. I gets home and OH says, I put Planet Earth to record for you but it said it was recording twice so I had to delete one. Yep! She had cancelled the HD recording and recorded it in SD. Looks like I'll have to download it and give her yet another lesson in how to operate the sky planner!!

My partner doesn't like HD for her soaps, she complains that it shows up all the skin blemishes and spots too much.

We use the Sky+ app to sort out recording. It's much easier than doing it on the box and you can flip through and see what's already setup quickly.

Anyway, back on topic!

Planet Earth 2 - not Sky recording!
