rad Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 @MathsWatch is this option to redirect schools to your servers available for any school? We can't allow students to use Vimeo as it is a safeguarding issue and a total distraction for students. Please advise, by PM if required. Thanks
BKGarry Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 I'm still not happy having to allow Vimeo to get this working, I also had a case a couple of weeks ago that one of the Vimeo servers got categorised as "adult" due to it's content. It is very annoying and we do not use smoothwall so the solutions mentioned are not applicable to us.

MkII Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 The Smoothwall workaround isn't working for us. Smoothwall aren't helping and neither is our LA support. Meanwhile our subscription to MathsWatch is counting down.

MkII Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Credit to mathswatch they directed our IP to their alternate servers and we are now working. Disappointing that we weren't able to get any help from our local authority support or smoothwall. (Smoothwall looked at an overview of our setup and confirmed that it was correct). 1
rad Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 To confirm, is it the Public IP address they want or our local range? (Which IP Address?)
korifugi Posted February 21, 2017 Posted February 21, 2017 To confirm, is it the Public IP address they want or our local range? (Which IP Address?) They'll need your Public IP. 1
CyberDrac Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Credit to mathswatch they directed our IP to their alternate servers and we are now working. Do you have a point of contact specifically for this or was it through their standard support contacts?
korifugi Posted February 27, 2017 Posted February 27, 2017 Do you have a point of contact specifically for this or was it through their standard support contacts? We just used their standard support contact.
MkII Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 We just used their standard support contact. Yes me too
clockend25 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 We're using Lightspeed and they initially just sent us the PDF detailing how to create a category and add the 1000+ URLs, but I eventually got them to redirect our public IP through to another content host. All seems to be working now.
CyberDrac Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 MathsWatch referred me to the appropriate Smoothwall KB, and supplied my with a text file with the URLs, and the instructions appear to have worked quite well. A Smoothwall block message flashes up for a fraction of a second before the video presents itself and plays normally. The main Vimeo website remains inaccessible.
Falls Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 If you're not using lightspeed as a proxy have you tried allowing the content through using Allowed Referrers. Don't know if it works or not as we have Lightspeed setup as a proxy and use URL Patterns for Vimeo video playback so Vimeo itself remains blocked. It may be worth a look see.
chinesewhispers Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I've seen today that students are being presented with a vimeo embedded video on MathsWatch again. Has anyone else had a problem since their IP was supposed to be redirecting to the MathsWatch hosted videos?
fiza Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 I had a teacher report that 2 students had this but when I tested it worked for my test user. I have yet to see the 2 students.
MathsWatch Posted October 6, 2017 Posted October 6, 2017 Hi all, We've experienced a technical problem with the redirect tool that affected some schools for the past 2 days. It should all be resolved now. If not, please get in touch at [email protected] 2

fiza Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 @MathsWatch - What is the issue today? I cant login as the administrator and most of our students cant login. "Error not found" keeps coming up. Anyone else having issues?
MathsWatch Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 (edited) Hi, We are aware of this issue which is only affecting some schools (Microsoft Edge users we believe). Should be fixed very soon. Sorry for the inconvenience. Edited October 9, 2017 by MathsWatch

MathsWatch Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 We are on Chrome and are experiencing problems. We think it is now fixed. Can you please CTRL+F5 browser and try again?

Garacesh Posted October 10, 2017 Posted October 10, 2017 Does your redirect only kick in once a user has logged in, or should it work on all pages (like your Samples)? If the latter, it's not working for us. It's back to being Vimeo and Youtube.
