Halfmad Posted February 20, 2008 Posted February 20, 2008 Anyone else noticed the number of people nominated and who won that were from the "brit academy" ? No doubt they'll claim that it's not biased but surely it can't help but look a bit suss?
beeswax Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 I think it's a conspiracy. It doesn't stop there y'know. Have you noticed how most doctors have been to medical school? ;-)
Gatt Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Did watch this last night, but got bored with all the speeches and p**sed up celeb's trying to be funny :| Way to predictable.. and Fearn Britton just annoys me... Top marks for Mika and Amy Winehouse (i think) for not miming!
triggmiester Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 what p****s me off is when they drag amy winehouse up on stage ond rave about how good she is. Let's not forget she's a sinking junkie and they are trying to put her out there as a role model. If an athlete gets caught taking drugs they are given a ban, perhaps they should do the same with people in the public eye. If the radio and tv stations stopped playing their stuff and they saw their earnings drop, that might get them to wake up and smell the coffee. Instead of giving her a grammy. GGGGRRRRRRRR
Dos_Box Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Does anyone know what the Arctic Monkeys said about the Brit Academy when they picked up one of their awards as it was edited out?
Gatt Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Was it editted out or were they just that pissed that you couldn't make out what they were saying - I know they seemed to cut Fearn Britton half way through - is this what u mean?
Ryan Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Let's not forget she's a sinking junkie Agreed mate. She winds me up no end. I fail to see why she's so loved, and why she keeps getting press. Same reason as Pete Doherty i suppose. People like watching car crashes...
Domino Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 brits? argh... biggest load of tripe ever. who'd wanna watch the same tired old acts masdquerading as something new and kissing each others arses all night. fortunately I'm gonna counteract it by seeing these guys this weekend http://youtube.com/watch?v=kGNb-YT5ECA -yay!
Domino Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 meh, If it makes my ears bleed I won't be able to hear the teachers when they come back on monday!
Guest Guest Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 If the radio and tv stations stopped playing their stuff... ...we would have to listen to the cnuts voice for 24hours a day as there wouldnt be any music. lmao All the best artists of the last 50years have been "druggies".

GGGGRRRRRRRR At least shes getting help!! If she was appearing to be as bad as she was before you might have a point but shes visibly improving Anyway athletes are banned because it may enhance their performance. As singers arent competing in anything, who gives a shit what drugs they're doing? Its their choice if they want to use their money to f*ck their lives up. If it wasnt for our media obsessed world we would barely know she was doing anything anyway. No-one seemed too bothered when loads of rock stars were doing everything under the sun in the 60s/70s I just dont understand peoples obsession with Doherty's and Amy's drug taking. If you like them musically, cool. If you dont, why you even bothered in the slightest? They arnt hurting anyone but themselves

Edu-IT Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Does anyone know what the Arctic Monkeys said about the Brit Academy when they picked up one of their awards as it was edited out? Was the show not live?
Ryan Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 They tend to broadcast these things with a small time delay so they can hurriedly chop out the really naughty bits
Pumaedition Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 worst decision was giving Take That the award for British Live Act....did anyone ever see Muse at Glastonbury a couple of years back....or indeed the Wembley Stadium gigs in June last year....much better than some re-formed pop act who just stand and sing....
torledo Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Did watch this last night, but got bored with all the speeches and p**sed up celeb's trying to be funny :| Way to predictable.. and Fearn Britton just annoys me... Top marks for Mika and Amy Winehouse (i think) for not miming! i disliked her less when she was a fat lardass giggling inanely on the This morning sofa...this slimmed down, ryvita-mini munhcing fern is very annoying. And the weight loss doesn't suit her. No-one should ever give Mika top marks for anything. Wino is a great singer, but she's taken over from Pete Doherty as the british medias' new smackhead obsession.
Gatt Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Thnk we're talking about the wrong Fearn here **checks** ah yes - my error - its fern cotton But dont like the other one either..
GrumbleDook Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 Having seen a variety of live acts (and live does *not* always mean better) I have to admit I was impressed with Take That when we saw them at MK Bowl. Then again, the best live act had to be AC/DC ('84 I think).... a close second is the Rolling Stones ... It all depends whether you are into Stadium, Arena, Club or Pub style live ... The Irish Centre in Liverpool was one of the best venues for live acts and seeing The Wolfe Tones (circa '87/8) still holds a special place. As for the Brits ... the only thing that annoys me about it are the drunkards who cannot string a coherent sentence together no matter whether they are giving or receiving awards ... and wasn't Sharon so flamin' demanding ... all botoxed and wanting to be the centre of attention. And poor Ozzie, thrust to the front with little idea about what is going on ... just screaming the name of the next person coming onto the stage. I know he has abused his mind and body, but I do think that the way he is rolled out just highlights the problems he has. I just wish it would serve as a reminder to people like Whiner-house what they will end up like in years to come.
Domino Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The best band I've seen still has to be Metallica at donnington '95 (yes, maths fans, I was 11). cloesely followed by Rage Against the Machine it has to be said though
torledo Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 (edited) Thnk we're talking about the wrong Fearn here **checks** ah yes - my error - its fern cotton But dont like the other one either.. oh gawd yes i know which one you talking about.........and yes she is also very annoying. Hasn't she been given her own radio one show like those other 'tards from cbbc, reggie and dick/dom. Proof if any were needed how crap radio 1 is that they need to recuit so-called 'talent' from childrens television just to keep listners. And i thought they couldn't scape the barrel any further after they hired the abomnibal sara cox. Edited February 21, 2008 by torledo
