Wasn't sure where to put this, so please feel free to move

We currently have a basic set of links for the student and staff home pages, eg links to Doddle, Outlook Web App etc. I am wondering if people wouldn't mind sharing their student and staff home pages equivalents please? I am looking to improve ours and add some more links and need some inspiration! The design side its not my expertise! :)

Thanks

We publish their timetable from sims using command reporter , all duties are on there and is very personal to that user. We also have the current day extra curric timetable . We link to various apis for things like rewards (we use epraise) ours is very user/group personal. Internally developed system that we call portal.

This shows up for all users when opening any of the web browsers. Some of the tile icons are only visible if your a member of staff. Background pulled in from Bing. Running on a IIS server with php.

It has an admin backend that the reception team manage the notices, etc.

Staff homepage when they fire up Chrome

Student homepage when they login.

Staff site will be moved to the new Google Sites once page level permissions arrives.

Thanks chaps, this is the type of thing I am after :)

This is our staff intranet.

I have never seen our student intranet so I can't say what theirs looks like (or if it exists).

This is ours, we currently have the same page for both staff and students but because they are auth'd against AD we get their group memberships so we can split if we needed to but at the moment all the links on the homepage require further logging in so really there isn't a need yet.

Have you pulled the printing impact section from a Papercut system? If so, how do you do that? Thanks.

What software are you using for the message system?

I want to create an intranet for staff and students. What do people mostly use? I was looking at Sharepoint or Wordpress, but need it to integrate with AD.

@FragglePete at the risk of being very cheeky - I don't suppose you would consider sharing your code if at all possible :o

I'm trying to do a similar page and struggling :confused2:

Thanks

Mark

Can do. But, I'm not a programmer so the code may appear a little 'messy' and has really been thrown together with the help of Dreamweaver.

I'll go through it and clear out stuff (including config files with passwords, etc).

I do have it running on IIS with PHP installed, along with a MySQL database. This allows me to use NTFS permissions on directories. It also uses a adLDAP class for pulling in group memberships, etc.

Watch this space!

The site is custom made, the Bootstrap theme was purchased (I think it was Material Admin). PHP/MySQL on IIS with adLdap to get staff details. That's also linked in with their SIMS timetable which updates hourly.

Sticky notes, room lookups, search timetable, emergency contact, network status is all custom. The weather is a jQuery plugin, can't remember which but if anyone wants it I'll check it out.
