Tesla Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 New series of Hunted started last night on C4. Anyone else watching it.........?
mowgli82 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Yep...............Can't believe how silly some people are on it though! It's the second series and people still use simple email passwords etc....I wonder how much is staged though!!
Blue_Cookeh Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I think just about every single aspect of it is staged really... still a fun one to watch though! 1
CAM Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I caught the end and thought it was awful CSI style garbage. It all looks fake unless anyone can just tap into council CCTV systems and phone tracking. You'd need some hefty warrants.
dcwhitworth Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Why Channel 4's The Hunted is the biggest TV joke of the year - Adam Postans - Mirror Online
Duranis Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I forgot this had started again. I found the last series quite entertaining. Yes of course they don't really have access to CCTV feeds (it says this at the start of the show) and all the rest but I just assume that they simulate it, i.e. if they go into an area with CCTV they consider them as being "seen". Even though it is not exactly "real" it is fairly close to what would be possible.
Tesla Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Why Channel 4's The Hunted is the biggest TV joke of the year - Adam Postans - Mirror Online Saw that article last year. I still think the show as a whole is very exciting and tense to watch. Each to their own I guess. Heard something yesterday about a how it's made, might be worth a look.
mowgli82 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Its entertaining, I suppose I was expecting a bit more realism that's all.
hardtailstar Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 ohh I forgot, the last series was a good watch. It is all staged, how do you expect them to hide with a camera crew with them all the time!
Tesla Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Its entertaining, I suppose I was expecting a bit more realism that's all. i *think* it's about as real as it's allowed to be. I think they do genuinely have to give up there laptops tablets etc (i think its probably written into their contracts etc, so as to make it as close to having a real warrant etc as possible), and it's probably also why they have the £250 that the hunters get notified if it's used etc etc - - - Updated - - - ohh I forgot, the last series was a good watch. It is all staged, how do you expect them to hide with a camera crew with them all the time! It's just one bloke with a camera isn't it? *shrugs*
garethEds Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 What was that film with Arnie where they had to escape capture? Was it Running Man? Maybe they could spice the programme up a bit GJE
mowgli82 Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 yeh what bugs me is stuff like...... easy passwords, if you're going on the show, you know they will be looking at your devices and emails. i know, i know its all staged but I still find myself shouting at the TV and getting wound up!
speckytecky Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Surely from a security perspective it's bonkers to screen such a series. Superb educational material for the ever active terrorists among the community.
Tesla Posted September 23, 2016 Author Posted September 23, 2016 Surely from a security perspective it's bonkers to screen such a series. Superb educational material for the ever active terrorists among the community. I Used to think that too but it's all pretty basic stuff (easy passwords!) I'm sure there's plenty of stuff they know about but don't talk about/use on the show.
rad Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 I watched last nights too, it was entertaining. The trailer showed a drone being used, if thats the case then it does prove how daft the show is.
hardtailstar Posted September 23, 2016 Posted September 23, 2016 Im applying for it next year. I thought about this series but I doubt I could get time off when filming if term time.

The trailer showed a drone being used, if thats the case then it does prove how daft the show is. Not just any old drone, but one with FLIR fitted! Yup, the Meeja people have taken over what could have been a really interesting series. mb
Tesla Posted September 26, 2016 Author Posted September 26, 2016 I thought about this series but I doubt I could get time off when filming if term time. It's been in May the last two series, not that it helps!
