mattx Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 What is this MAK - [ Multiple Activation Key ] business ? - According to my Technet + sub I am allowed 1500 activations ? That can't be right....... I only had about 5 Vista & Office 2007.......

That can't be right....... I only had about 5 Vista & Office 2007....... that part of the VL site is completely broken. I'm allowed 1100 of everything as it's just added up all my annual numbers without taking into account that its a limited lease period.

I didn't think they were.....

localzuk Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Server 2008 only activates via KMS though doesn't it?
DMcCoy Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Server 2008 only activates via KMS though doesn't it? KMS or MAK. The KMS threshold is 5 servers.
zag Posted February 15, 2008 Posted February 15, 2008 Wouldn't touch server 2008 with a barge pole after the last 2 pieces of Microsoft software I have installed and trialed. Exchange 2007 - has so many problems, even uninstalling the thing, I had to go into adsi edit and remove some keys. Problems with public folder migration, mail flows and receive connectors all not working on initial release. SP1 only fixed a few of these. Vista - Less said about this the better, pure bloat and buggy first release. At least SP1 is here and has made it alot better. Trusting my servers to 2008?.... Nah give it a few years and multiple service packs first
