SIMS Running reports for pre-admissions

I am trying to get contact details for parents out of SIMS for children set up in a pre-admissions group. I can run a report to get their students name and address but can't get any contact info out even though I can see it all in there when I browse the group. Is there any reason why I cant run a report on the data for pre-admissions? Even the data collection sheet reports only return the name and address.

 

The students are accepted but don't have admission numbers.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you post a picture of your report setup?

I've tried my own report as well as the standard data collection reports these return the correct number of students but no contacts data just names and addresses.

Please log a case if you haven't already. I'd also recommend using MyAccount for specific SIMS questions as there are many subject experts on there.

Agreed, log a call.

 

However, as a quick answer for you. Rather than creating a Student based report, create an Application based report (Admission - Application). Then under the Family/Home heading, their is a sub-report called Application Contacts. Lastly, i'd add a filter to this report based on Application Status (Registration - Application Status) and set the filter to show Accepted only.

I'm not sure actually. As far as i know, it's never really worked properly so i've always just done it by Application instead.

We've been advised by Capita support that the data is only available via the Applicant focus. We read pre-admission data for our Parents Evening System product and ran into the same thing when trying to export contact data.

If that's the case, why is there the option to include them within a Student based report? I.e. Refine Data Area screen, select 'Accepted Pre-Admissions'.

 

As they don't actually work, and Capita advise to just run an Application based report instead, surely it would be better if the option wasn't even there?

Yes I think because I can select pre-admissions via the Student focus and return a list of names - not returning other fields is confusing. Thank you to your all for helping me out, I will use the applicant focus in the future.
