There's a couple of popular zones near the school, one of which is centred on a main road, according to student gossip.

^ Reading the Arstechnica.com article here: Some public places want more Pokémon Go?but the Holocaust Museum does not [updated] | Ars Technica

It looks like the response it "open a ticket", but you need to know the name of the Pokestop.

Update: Niantic representatives declined to answer Ars' questions about whether it will abide by the museum's request for delisting. Instead, Ars was forwarded a link to Niantic's "bug report ticket" site and was told that "inappropriate locations or content" could be reported through that interface. That site does not include specific instructions about making such reports.

Yes, that's the Holocaust Museum. Whoever should have been looking over the map data at Niantic to avoid PR disasters needs firing (or, more likely, hiring since it seems no-one's doing it).

School geofencing happened with Yik Yak so it'll probably happen with Pokemon Go. If it's this bad when the only availability of the app is unofficial APKs imagine how bad it'll be when it is released in the UK officially.

On the flip side the reasons for the delay in a UK release may be that they are still busy removing inappropriate locations.

An app that encourages young people and children to go to known 'hot' spots - Its asking for trouble (even if something bad only happens once)

.....ok these will hopefully be public places but it dosn't rest easy in my mind.

Not good enough. Schools shouldn't have to be reactive. They need to be able to geofence their locations and not have a risk in the first place.

Not just schools. Waiting for the first idiot to wander onto a military base...

Thankfully 'lures' can only be used at Pokestops- 'lure' being something players can use that attracts Pokemon (and as such, people playing the game) to particular places for 30 minutes.

In theory Pokestops should be places like Churches, Parks, Charity Shops etc where it's normally safe for people to wander to but it'd be worth reminding kids that it's not the end of the world if they don't take advantage of the lure!

We have a gym but nothing else (technically just outside the school grounds).

later edit: One of the blighters is in my office!

Open Evening Advert at @Sagima's school - "Now with more Pokemon than $other_school".

Auditors later question "lures" line item in budget.

There is an article about it here as well, with a direct link to the ticket form: Pokémon Go: How to request or remove a PokéStop or Gym | GamesBeat | Games | by Jeff Grubb

I have quoted the relevant section below.

To request a change to the PokéStops in your neighborhood, go to Niantic’s website and fill out this support form. It asks for the reason for your request, and you can choose one of the following options:

  • Issues with Gym Battles
  • Dangerous PokéStop or Gym
  • No PokéStops or Gyms near me
  • PokéStop or Gym does not exist
  • Report a PokéStop on my personal property

If you’re trying to remove a PokéStop, you’ll need the exact name of the location — such as Walter White’s House from the TV show Breaking Bad.
