Deploying Office 365 on network

Hello! Just wondering how I deploy Office365 on our school network? We have a subscription but i'm struggling to understand how to download, deploy and install it on all of our machines.

You don't download it as such as it is cloud based. You sign up for it here https://portal.office.com/start?sku=e82ae690-a2d5-4d76-8d30-7c6e01e6022e

 

and then add all your staff, students etc. You can migrate your previous emails or just start again.

 

i have a shortcut to it on the desktop for staff

With our RM subscription it gives us the option to download Office 365 Pro Plus - i was wondering how to deploy this.

Ah - that makes more sense. Does it not appear as a possible download when someone logs in to office 365?

the download version of office 2013/16 that you get with office 365 i dont think is a deployable version in that i dont think it allows you to create answer files to install it. You could probably download it to a server and script an install and it would get a license when someone logged into their office 365 account in say word

The option to download Office via Office365 uses a web installer as it is intended for end users to install on their personal devices.

If you were to install it on your school computers you would need to keep changing the user login details otherwise the licence would expire.

It is easier to use the proper Office 2013/2016 installation media from your Microsoft Volume Licence Centre (which you need to be paying for anyway to get 365 for free)

Which license are you on then? The Edu one is free (but needs Office licensed locally for downloading). The paid for ones are different non-edu licenses normally.

As @Steve21 said, what licencing are you currently on.

 

If your paying for your Office 365 subscription, but do not have a Volume Licence agreement (such as OVS-EES) then installing the Office client on stations is not as straight forward as it could be.

We have a Volume License agreement - shall i just download the Office 2016 and activate them? Looks like Office 365 via RM is a different thing altogether...!
