Just had some fun playing with my old TCR - http://www.stuffwelove.co.uk/racingsets/tcr.htm But the attached piece of paper I found was real nostalgia! I don't recall ever using one other than as scrap paper, but then I would have been about 6-8 years old at the time!
mattx Posted February 9, 2008 Posted February 9, 2008 Lordy - I had one of those - used to use it to plot my block GX drawings... Plot command on the ZX80 and ZX81 The Specy had the Draw or Line command which was real nifty at the time...

But I have my (actually my dad's) BBC Model B in the loft, with a green tube, impact wheel printer and one of the first Watford Electronics 5.25 floppy disk drives. Dual double-sided drives in 40 or 80 tracks - luxury!
Geoff Posted February 10, 2008 Posted February 10, 2008 Ah yes, I also have a BBC, although it's the rather rare B+ model (like a B but with 128k of ram). Also I have the 'IBM expansion box' for it. Which bumps the ram up to 1MB, gives it a 20MB hard drive and a 8086 co-processor.

Arrr, well for once I can out do you Geoff - I have a ZX80, original box, working with manuals etc. In fact I have most of the range as I was lucky enough to have a Dad who got the latest bit of availble computer kit back then. In my [ now ] collection I have a ZX80, ZX81, Speccy + a few of the other models, Vic20, Comm64 BBC A, BBC B, Acorn electron. One thing I don't have and I am keen to get is the Sinclair QL - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sinclair_QL

ajbritton Posted July 17, 2009 Posted July 17, 2009 You lot are (with possible exception of Geoff) are all spoilt youngsters! My first computer was an Ohio Superboard which didn't even have a case. I managed to blow the on board fuse the moment I got it home by powering it up whilst it sat on the tin foil it came wrapped in RAM expansion mean soldering extra chips on top of the existing ones. I got it up to 12K like this. Happy days.
