We had a student, now gone, who was forever probing our systems and checking a workstation he used to regularly use recently I see multiple folders on the C:\ with titles such as e48c69adce9a92168d984e5ea4

These folders seem to be empty, carried out a disk cleanup and they still remain. Any suggestions please?

Are n't they just windows update system folders? Any such folders on adjacent PC's?

Who "owns" the folder?

Thanks for the replies folks. Much appreciated.

Ownership is Everyone and Users, Read & Execute, Read and List.System & Administrators full.

Checking other similar clients - nope nothing like it on them.

I'm probably going to end up reimaging. That said the PC is running okay.

I have seen folders like this within a window 7 environment and found out it was something to do with dot net framework not installing correctly ?

Tell me anyone if I am wrong
