mavhc Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Just installed the Fast Ring insider version. Edge stole my default browser from Chrome, again, and pleaded with me when I switched back. It does have right click on back button now. New start menu is better, but they've moved everything again, "where do I log out?" is the most common question in my beta tests, and they moved that. Also now takes 2 clicks to see who's logged in, and even more keyboard presses to access things like restart, what's wrong with keyboard shortcuts microsoft? (at least I can send the same rants to Microsoft via the feedback hub)

I think I'm going to wait till the anniversary edition to come out, although I have already used DISM to get rid off candy crush etc... Undecided on the start menu too, I like the idea of using the new start menu and XML but the classic shell works really well too... decisions decisions.

Works for me.

Things get taken in and out all the time, usually when they are improving them. It's what is expected of the fast ring.
Zourous Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) I read this thread the other day and it seemed like most people were getting on fine, so we continued to push on for W10 on our new teacher laptops. Then we discovered that the "PC settings" app in 2 separate images we've created isn't working! It just does plain nothing when you click on it. Along with the old faithful right click on desktop "display settings" or "personalize" is throwing up an error about the "ms-settings". So the long and short of it, it looks like the PC settings app is corrupted in some way, along with most of the apps contained within it, as you can't jump to these either via a direct command. I've posted another thread here about it: http://www.edugeek.net/forums/windows-10/172196-cannot-open-windows-10-settings.html I'm about to give out 90+ laptops with this image and I don't even know if windows update is working in the background as I can't get to it. XEN0N Posted July 3, 2016 Posted July 3, 2016 supposedly, the last day to get Windows 10 upgrade for free is July 31st. I've deployed it on all my computers at work and glad I did. Makes my job as an Admin much easier.
