Don't need this Home, Home Premium, Pro, Enterprise, Education, Pro Education silliness. It worked so much better years ago, NT Workstation and NT Server that was it. If you needed NT Workstation to join the domain you went into System control panel and added it, you did not need a 'Pro' version. If you did not need it you never went near that setting. 1

The company quietly added this new SKU with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14328, for those wondering Sorry to be pedantic, but surely he means edition rather than SKU since every Windows edition has multiple SKUs. e.g. FQC-08969 = Windows 10 Professional 32-bit DVD FQC-08929 = Windows 10 Professional 64-bit DVD FQC-08789 = Windows 10 Professional 32/64-bit USB etc. The DISM command he mentions even says edition at the end too! Dism /Online /Get-TargetEditions

Oaktech Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 I had a lot scorn poured upon me among my NM/Enterprise friends when I said I would be waiting for a bit to see how things played out, You know, to let the OS mature a bit, for new tools to become available and for Server 2016 to be RTM It's looking more and more like I was right to wait.

3s-gtech Posted June 8, 2016 Posted June 8, 2016 Same here. I've prepped as much as I can - KMS, Group Policies, built a mandatory profile, tested extensively, still have no intention of rolling out 10 for at least 12 months. It's just not there IMO, and feels like 8.0 in many ways. 1

Apple and Google both manage with a single edition for iOS, Android, OS X and Chrome OS. If Microsoft had a single edition of Windows 10, additional enterprise and education-related features could be added on demand (a bit like language packs which are available on VLSC or the .NET Framework 3.5) or via the product key.
