Recommend me a laptop

I'm looking to replace a number of my school's laptops but I need them to be able to run 32-bit Windows 7, I've looked at a couple of models but they don't support 32-bit Windows 7, only the 64-bit flavour.

 

Specification wise I'm looking around the following:

32-bit Windows 7 driver support

4Gb memory

250 Gb HDD

11.6" screen (touch if possible)

Intel Celeron or i3 CPU

 

I did buy some Lenovo Yoga 11E's and they are perfect for the role but the model I bought is now end of life and the latest version has now 32-bit Windows 7 support.

 

Does anyone have any advice?

any reason why it needs to support 32 bit as out of the box id imagine everything at this point is 64 bit bar atom tablets

We have some applications that just won't work on 64-bit systems, we are moving away from them but we need replacement laptops first.

Worth getting refurbs? ICT Direct's Lenovo X220 should give you all of the above, they're cheap and solid, and will run 64 bit Windows happily when you can finally expunge your legacy applications.

They're perfect little machines and come with a 2 year warranty out of the box nowadays.

 

They aren't touchscreen however, but personally I'd say that'll only extend their lifespan as nobody will be prodding the screen all the time.

Dont think I would trust Lenovos after the amount of times theyve been caught doing shady things in recent times. The amount of Crap they have preinstalled as well doesnt help.

Several primaries take a clean install on 7 pro, it's not common though.

 

One thing we've done quite a lot however is to send a school a blank machine, have them install their school image and send the hdd back so we can deploy it across a whole order for them.

 

Makes it easier for you guys when you get 50 machines on delivery day

Thats pretty good. We always used to remiage straight away when I worked in school. In my new job I end up having to support machines that are purchased then put straight on the domain and the Lenovos are always the biggest pain. Just having a little rant.
