Norphy Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 It really isn't the year to be a celebrity! Victoria Wood has died from cancer. Only 62, younger than my mum Comedian Victoria Wood dies aged 62 - BBC News
network41 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 How sad , loved Dinner ladies , Acorn Antiques etc
Bagpuss66 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Not my favourite style of comedy I personally prefer the Jerry Sadowitz style , but still a shock.
elsiegee40 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Yet another to lose the battle with cancer. I am simply gutted! She was one of my favourites

mthomas08 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Another great comedian gone from a time when Political Correctness garbage didn't exist, people had backbones and a sense of humour.
witch Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Another great comedian gone from a time when Political Correctness garbage didn't exist, people had backbones and a sense of humour. What? Victoria Wood was a brilliant comedian who was one of the first funny women to be up there with the men - I don't understand your comment - she wasn't un-PC at all

mthomas08 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 I think that's his point. Yep. I loved her comedy, no fear at all. As I said, a different time. In todays world too many comedians are having to tread carefully out of fear of one person whining about it on Twitter.
witch Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Nope, still don't get it. What on earth did she ever do that in today's world she would had to tread carefully? I saw her live many times and she wasn't racist, sexist, or any other ist you could ever imagine
elsiegee40 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I agree she wasn't un-PC. She wasn't afraid to mention taboo subjects, but that's not failing to be politically correct.
witch Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 I agree she wasn't un-PC. She wasn't afraid to mention taboo subjects, but that's not failing to be politically correct. Thank you. I thought I was going bonkers then for a minute
mikeprice Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Thank you. I thought I was going bonkers then for a minute going?? 1
mikeprice Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 So...what sort of frog then? Ahh - thought I had got away with that one err - I'll get back to you
DJ-1701 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 Ahh - thought I had got away with that one err - I'll get back to you @mikeprice If you wear a frog costume and post a picture here, it might confuse @witch enough not to turn you into one... but you better hop to it... Failing that I hear kissing a Princess breaks the spell...
elsiegee40 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 @mikeprice Failing that I hear kissing a Princess breaks the spell... They're hard cars to find these days. They stopped making them years ago. 2

Failing that I hear kissing a Princess breaks the spell... I don't think anything is powerful enough to confuse @witch - however my OH is a princess to me - does that count???
DJ-1701 Posted April 23, 2016 Posted April 23, 2016 I don't think anything is powerful enough to confuse @witch - however my OH is a princess to me - does that count??? It's a bit of a leap, but I think I can jump behind that idea.
witch Posted April 24, 2016 Posted April 24, 2016 It's a bit of a leap, but I think I can jump behind that idea. Please stick to the punny thread - don't hijack everything ta
