Hi,

I'm trying to find suitable training courses for members of my team to attend (comptia N+, Microsoft Server 2012 etc). Normally i would use QA but with budget pressures etc, i was wondering if anyone can suggest any reputable companies in the Manchester area.

Thanks in advance,

Cheapest way to run the type of training you are looking at, is to try and get a few local schools to group together and have an onsite.

Might be something the ANME group could look in to?

Let me know if you find any in the north area!

Neos are very good @Leeoakley but it is a journey and expenses bump it up so would be interested to see if there's anything similar around us.

Looking into it now... Going to ask for some feedback in an email that's due to go out in the next day or so...

Going to link the survey feedback in with an info update email, the training interest survey will be an extra chance to win one of two prizes if you do the info update too...

New Horizons (Newcastle region) do online live training for Microsoft, Comptia, Citrix,VMWare and so on. They do offers if putting multiple people through, still in £1,000's though.

Great idea! If there is a chance of discounted training via ANME membership that would be a real plus!

+1 for NEOS. It would depend on whether you wanted actual qualification training, though. Their desktop and server courses cover most of the content for the MS exams, but they are presented in more of a 'This is how you would do it in the real world' kind of way. They are based in Worcester but also run courses at different venues around the country that you may be able to join. They also do a massive education discount and you can claim up to half of the cost back through a Tech Partnership training grant. I'm hoping I can get back down there at some point this year to do PowerShell and Hyper-V training.

Edit: Clarification of training discount/Grant - I had 10 days of desktop/server/AD/GP training for £1000 and school was able to claim £500 of that back, which more than covered my accommodation expenses.

Thanks Steve :)

The idea of the ANME survey bringing schools network teams together would allow both certified and non certified courses, depending on numbers, budgets etc.

In the training market, individually purchased courses are always way more expensive than when you group together.

Think i was on the same course as you Steve! Recognize you from Liverpool and your dog!!

Is the grant still running?!

But yes another +1 for Neos from me if can bundle together with ANME. It would be better if they could run official certified courses though? Maybe through ANME this could happen.

Hahaha. Most people recognise me because of Jess (or my beard). Are you the Adam I was sharing dog pictures with on the AD/GP course, or were you on the desktop course when I actually had to take her to the training room because I forgot that I couldn't just leave her in the B&B after I'd checked out?

I've just checked this and, sadly, they're not taking new applications. That said, £1000 for 10 days of excellent training is still a baaaargain.

Putting the words training, certification, ANME, discount and Neos into the same sentence makes me all excited. This HAS to be a thing. Don't build me up, just to knock me down now guys and girls.:bounce:

I'm really looking forward to seeing the opinions and suggestions from the training interest survey... And really hoping the extra incentive to do it helps ;-)

(must be one of the shortest surveys I've done so far!)

Yes, but if ANME are going to sort out training courses that people want, those interested people who aren't members, would join! :)

True... I'd publicise the courses when they're arranged with details about how to join / sign up... I'd rather get feedback from existing members in the first instance... I'll send a link to the survey to new members though...

Had some great responses and feedback to the Training Interest Survey so far... Quite interesting to see who doesn't really look at the Info Update table too :-p

The idea of group training sounds great. Rick let me know if anything like this can be organised. My school will not support for any training.

Thanks
