Do you still have Windows 7 and do you have extended support?
internetuser replied to johnsmith12345's topic in Windows 7
Esu support ends in Dec 22/Jan 23 for Windows 7 and 2008r2 server You had to buy it in a year by year bundle. So if you wanted to buy it now you would have to buy year 1, 2 and 3 -
Can we have a sticky "Patch Tuesday Updates" thread?
internetuser replied to Jaan's topic in Windows
Last 6 months have been a nightmare, with multiple printer nightmare quirks, the exchange issue, and rebooting dcs… I tend to keep an eye on the Reddit mega thread but also take it as a pinch of salt as loads of people panic over the slightest thing -
As in app notification ?

Why are some Secondary Schools still on Windows 7?
internetuser replied to free780's topic in Windows 7
Money and lack of understanding from SMT. If it works why change it attitude, and I suspect legacy software they won’t have licences or support for now. I left education a few years ago and private sector is just as bad. Just because it is wrong does not mean they care, no matter the risk. Wannacry helped with the removal of xp. But windows 7 works so they won’t change it till it’s a deal breaker. The official cost of the esu is mad but people don’t care or will pay it. -
I think the problem is Microsoft current are not totally on point yet for what some people need And for it to work well you need a hybrid environment with sccm.

No help. But I saw this coming in 2011. Lots of money thrown into fancy iMacs etc and iPads. When I asked the school demoing the new labs at the time. I asked what the device life cycle plan was. Never got a straight answer and the head who pushed for these has now left. Leaving the school with a massive issue.

The only issues I found with macs was the lack of ssd’s hampered creative cloud massively. And the eol for os upgrades. Apart from that they were rebust

You can set owners for team channels. If it is been rushed in. I suspect they will be learning it as they go along. If admin can create a teams channel, then grant an owner so they can create teams with in this channel. What they don’t want from day zero is people going rouge and creating millions of channels and teams.
