6Foot2 Posted November 15, 2016 Posted November 15, 2016 Rogue One: Recon is a short immersive 360 experience created by ILMxLAB that is connected to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.” Conflict, above all else, rules the galaxy. As an everyday X-wing pilot flying for the Rebellion, be immediately immersed in the vastness of space with only your R2 unit and wingman by your side. What starts as a routine mission for Mon Mothma takes a sharp turn as you stumble upon unexpected Imperial presence - and something they will do anything to keep hidden.

Dos_Box Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 Just got back from seeing it, and it's probably the best Star Wars film since Empire. I can't say anything else about it now as pretty much anything will be a spoiler, but it's open season for comments after Thursday.
DalekSec Posted December 18, 2016 Posted December 18, 2016 I watched it for the 2nd time this morning, still awesome! If anything it's better second time round! (Might of been because 1st time i was half as well as was midnight!)

Gibbo Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 (edited) Can't believe how amazing it was. I went in with my hopes set at "Phantom Menace" level, and wasn't disappointed with the almost-but-not-quite-the-original opening theme tune and lack of big words flying through space. But as the movie went on, the classic tunes were there, with some absolutely jaw dropping scenes. I'd avoided any spoilers, so to see some Episode IV characters was just an absolute delight that brought tears to my eyes. Without a doubt in the top two of best Star Wars films of all time. LeMarchand Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 Sounds like I was the only one who was a bit disappointed! Despite claims to the contrary, I'm willing to bet that the reshoots cut character stuff in favour of more SFX/action sequences. I didn't feel we got to know the team enough to make their fate as weighty as it should have been. Maybe they should have had a "team building" mini-mission first to let us know more about them and to develop their camaraderie? I also noticed there were quite a few shots in the trailer that didn't make it into the film, but the one with Jyn running along the beach with the plans in particular suggests a quite different ending - though I was moved by the end we got. Still, an admirable effort and a surprising final act.
Dos_Box Posted December 22, 2016 Posted December 22, 2016 I think we can do spoilers now. The big space battle at the end had me jumping up and down in my seat. And I love the fact it ties in exactly with the beginning of Episode IV.
