Though they might not suggest a sense of achievement and progression, at one of my last schools we used: Can't Stop the Feeling! - Justin Timberlake Happy - Pharrell Williams Both songs give a feel good vibe and good for a look back at the last academic year.

Are you looking forward to getting stuck in to all your Summer jobs!
GC75 replied to kennysarmy's topic in General Chat
We broke up for the summer last Friday, so already enjoying the peace!List of jobs, that I have thought of so far: - Our smaller site is being closed down, so we have to decommission it of all IT equipment, we started this yesterday and everything is moved/unplugged and in 1 room apart from Smartboards, WAPs and server which will be removed over the next couple of weeks. First pick up of hardware is on Thursday where we will load up a couple of the school buses and unload it to a secure place on site. - Hardware will need to be sorted through to see what to keep and what to get rid off. - Create a new 20H2 image to deploy to this hardware and rebuild current laptops. - Move across staff and pupils who will be starting here in September from closed site. - Copy data across from closed site. - Remove old group policies/OUs for other site. - Setup new staff and pupils. - Sort through shed of old equipment that has hardware that has been in there before I started last year and get it removed from site with any additional kit. - Support staff being moved around to different rooms, so need to be around to move hardware. - 1 ICT Suite is being re-cabled and additional network points put in a few rooms (not by us though!). - Decide where Smartboards from closed site are going to be installed replacing old IWBs. I've also got to fit in 2 weeks holiday (have a week off next week) and my apprentice has got to take 3 weeks off as well. -
I saw this about a week ago, it's okay but no John Wick.

I've got the same issue here as well, just wondering if it was a Windows update that has caused the problem like various printing issues that started after the updates that got pushed out last Tuesday. I've got to get my hands on one of the laptops in Art department who reported the issue to me to check.

Just found this thread, I now work in an independent school in the countryside that backs on to a farm, the school building is an old country estate that was built in the late 1800s. I've seen many rabbits, deer and kestrels especially during the school holidays when it is quieter, but the best so far has to be driving down the lane up towards the school at the start of this Spring term and flying along the side of me just over the hedge was a barn owl, I've not seen one of these beauties for years.

I got myself the disc version as I like having both options and also I have a good library of Blurays that I would watch on it as well. I agree with you on the controller, such a great piece of kit and it is smaller than it looked in the photos, fits snuggly in the hand. Now I don't know if my PS4 controller was on its way out or not but the thumb sticks feel a lot more precise as well. I've not purchased a PS4 game for ages now so might have to get Ghost of Tsushima at some point to give that a go with the upgraded PS5 version of the game.

If you do eventually get one and get a Playstation Plus subscription they have what is called the Playstation Plus Collection which means you can download and play some of the PS4 exclusives like God of War, The Last of Us, Days Gone and a few others, they might also add to it over the coming months. I will catch up on a few that I missed myself with this as well.

Thanks for the pizza, it was very well received and I think the rest of the pack going in for the pizzas also enjoyed it!! It was also good to look at the Net-Ctrl stand and your CCTV solutions.

A photo of the freebies I got today, including the IPad/tablet holder from Lock'n'Charge Tech! I didn't see as many freebies compared to last year, I either didn't look hard enough or suppliers are cutting back! Also thanks to the Edugeek stand for the 2 slices of pizza, the lanyard and badge!

That's good to hear! So how does the test go is it just a multiple choice questions and answers? I've never done anything like this before so have no ideas myself. Also the exam you did, have you got to have full knowledge of Windows 10? Here we are on Windows 7 and I only use, have played about with 10 at home.

Would have been god to have known about it before it had started!! I might have to try the turn up and see if I can get in on it.
-
That's a shame would have given me something to do as my 2 ex work colleagues I've been with the last 3 years aren't able to make it this year. Looks like I'll be going on a freebie hunt all day now then!

Looks like all the slots have gone now?

I've just found this thread, so thought I'd share my ghostly experience. When I worked for the local authority, we did a whole network install in a secondary school during the summer holidays, the school is in a 200 year old building. We was on the first floor setting up their new ICT Suite and there was just 4 of us and the school's ICT technician onsite. I popped downstairs to the toilet, on my way back up the stairs I could distinctly hear a baby crying for 2-3 seconds and it only stopped when I got to the top of the stairs. The ICT Suite we was working on was about 10 meters away from the stairs and I asked the guys if they had heard a baby crying to which they all replied no. When I saw the ICT technician who was working in another room, I told him what I had heard and he told me that before it became a school the building used to be an orphanage! That really made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up!

[sims] Solus 3 Agent won't install or update when pushed from SIMS server
GC75 replied to DJ-1701's topic in MIS Systems
One problem I sometimes get is that if the IP address of the workstation is duplicated in DNS, if it is I usually clear all records of that IP and on the workstation do an ipconfig /release and then a /renew then try again, I usually find this solves most Solus problems I am having. -

We have 20 Linx 1010B 32GB with Windows 8.1 Pro and to be honest we have nothing but grief with them, the camera is very problematic, sometimes the camera app will open and just bring up a black screen, other times the app just closes itself down as soon as it opens, the only way to resolve it is to shut down or restart the tablet. Also sometimes when you switch them on the wireless connection has a red cross on it (we have full wireless coverage), I then have to log on with my admin account, go into network connections then disable and enable the wireless connection for it to kick back into life. I've tried various ways but still cannot resolve this issue or even find a solution online. I upgraded 2 of them to Windows 10 Pro hoping that would sort out the problems but both still had the camera and wireless connection issues. One other thing when the camera is working okay and they want to use to capture movie clips the sound on them is really bad unless the subject is less then 5 yards away from you. We had a Maths Week at the end of the last academic year and after recording some of a class they resorted to using an IPad as the clips were just not suitable to be used in a presentation to parents. I've no idea if the later models are any better but I wouldn't recommend the 1010B model at all, of course it's just my opinion but it has given me plenty of grief in the 14 months that we have had them.
