speckytecky Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Several of our O365 users have been complaining about PDF failure to open or print from the application? It seems the only way to get the document is to physically download it then open it?
FN-GM Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 What product in Office 365 are we talking about here pleasE?
Marci Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I presume we're talking trying to open a PDF attachment from Mail. Same issue here, however, also affects regular .docx and .xlsx files etc.
speckytecky Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Thanks @FN-GM yes as @Marci says it's Mail and yes we also suffer it with other documents. Naturally the staff think it's something I have done so it's reassuring to find others have the same issue. What product in Office 365 are we talking about here pleasE?
Michael Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 You could try in IE or Chrome and see if it behaves the same. I've found deleting the browser cache can sometimes help too. 1
Oaktech Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Case logged with Microsoft. Let me know the outcome... I logged a case with MS about this a week ago and they've blamed my internal IE policies - despite it doing it on chrome too - and closed the case. I'm not sure I can raise the energy to try again.
MrFrostmaul Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 We been having the same issue, but with word documents as well opening email attachments and if keep trying to open eventually it will open. Only started for us in the last 3 weeks, even on Chrome, firefox etc. and even sometimes at home.
muppet Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I reported this to MS in October last year............they tried to blame our internal IE policies but couldn't answer me when I pointed out that it didn't happen all the time or to just the same people, it was completely random. When I also pointed out that it happens on Chrome too they said that Chrome was the likely cause and closed the case. I'd be interested to hear what they tell you the cause is!!!
jslate1980 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I have had contact from Microsoft yesterday with the same issue I logged a call before Christmas. I am trying to reproduce the issue to send them a fiddler log, but I am finding it hard to find some body who is still having the issue. I have a question though, they have said that people who are having the fault are having it with the same specific emails but I think it's more random than that. As I am sure it works sometimes and not others with the same email. How are you finding the issue?
MrFrostmaul Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 For us it seems to be random on emails, users, browsers and computers.
muppet Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Same as @MrFrostmaul, it's completely random for us.....users, emails, browsers and PC's
