VIVIDTouch, GTouch or Clevertouch

Hi All,

 

I'm currently looking at replacing out Smartboard 580's with interactive displays and I've whittled the potential screens down to 3 (All 65"):

 

Genee GTouch 65GTD - Was demo'd one by a nearby school, worked well in low January afternoon sun, competitively priced, Android onboard is a nice touch.

 

Clevertouch Plus 65" - Again, demo'd one by a nearby school, seemed more responsive than the Genee, built in Android again, Like the potential of the Display Note bundled software, premium price.

 

VIVIDTouch VTE-6500 - Keenest priced so far, 2x HDMI in, no android system, slim bezel, haven't had a hands on.

 

I'm wondering if anyone has used any of these 3 and would recommend one over the other. Are the Android based ones worth the premium? Primarily they're replacing Smartboards but our staff don't use the Smart-Ink-Awareness and we will licence Smart software separately.

Also, you need to check how well they write. There can be quite a lag on the older models.

I have a school which got 2 of the VIVIDTouch VTE-6500 last summer to replace 2 Smartboard and to me they are very good for the money, only complant was that the build in speakers are not that loud! I have written on it and to me its the same as a smarthboard.

The only one of those I have seen and used is a Vividtouch and it was very good. Works well with SMART notebook software.

The VTE range has been discontinued though, I believe.

My personal opinion, but I'd not consider anyone of them....buy a far cheaper large LCD TV instead and use the device, laptop., tablet or other with an app as your whiteboard. They provide no significant impact in learning for the students and then there's the cost to get teachers trained in using the software properly.

We have had experience on all three, I personally think the vivid touch isn't as good as a promeathean or g-touch option. You can get some really good pricing from accredited partners and its always best (in my opinion) to go with the mainstream brands as they offer better support and you can actually get someone to site if there is a problem.

I had a demonstration on most panels at BETT and Promethean and VividTouch impressed me the most, Promethean's mirroring technology for all devices and vividtouch's capacitive screen were the stand out features for me. I am making my choice very soon and at the moment it's looking like I'm going to go with Promethean for the fact they are an established company with reliable products and their V4 panel on features alone have impressed me the most out of all the others I have seen.

The Vividtouch range of boards is developed and manufactured by Steljes, who are a well established AV distributor in the UK. They have there own service team which are really good.

probably need to compare different brands as the Benq boards update android and firmware remotely by them when connected to internet or sent by own network admin. step up from USB updating each screen manually.

I think you need to have a demo of all the screens and see what works best for you. Working for Clevertouch i can only give a biased opinion but you really need to see what works for you and your teachers.

We've just bought 4 x Vividtouch boards for one of our primaries. They are delighted with them!

What does everyone do about software for whiteboards?

Most interactive panels will generally come with some type of software, whether that be made my the manufacturer or a third party.

We have alot of schools buying SMART with the ones we sell as we can package it all up into a bundle.

The old old Vividtouch VTS range are 6 point touch, the VTE and the New VTF are both 10 point touch.
