How to access SIMS remotely for doing the registers

Our PE staffs are unable to do the registers for the pupils onSIMS when they are offsite. Do you have anything in place for this functionality?We have a enhanced support with Capita. Please suggest.

SIMS Teacher App?

 

Don't have any experience with it but is what I could find on their website.

Might be more expensive than a 3rd party app but might be worth it since you have Capita's enhanced support.

Does the location where the PE teachers wish to do this have internet/network access?

Teacher App or remote access is pretty much the only way I believe (Or SLG? I can't remember if that has it or not).

 

Teacher App doesn't require connections because it can be used "Offline", we are holding back a little due to the Windows 8+ required so going to go W10.

We use Group Emerge - also allows the device to go offline where it then keeps a local database of contacts, registers, etc. Sync's back up when your back online and updates the registers. Used by our PE teachers here also and they love it.

We use Groupcall Emerge here, the SIMS Teacher App also provides this functionality. Take a look at both because there are other benefits of each and pricing can vary depending on the size of your school.

We use emerge too, its pretty reliable I dont get any issues with it really.

I have two sites one uses Emerge and the other the Teacher App

 

I would go with the Teacher App it has a lot more functions and easily accessible off site if needed, Good Luck

What device do you want to access using?

 

We use Reggie - it downloads a copy of your registers and photos. You mark them as present or absent, then when it re-connects to the internet it will update the SIMS DB
