Hi We use Tes Room Booking in our school . Please could you let me know if the Room Booking syncs with SIMS, does it write from SIMS to room booking system? There were changes done on the MIS for changes in the room , but the changes has not happened in room booking system. Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi We use Whisper Anonymous Reporting Tool in our school .One of the teacher is asking if there is a way of finding out which school user account may have accessed the Whisper tool from a school PC at a particular time on a particular day. Is this possible to run a report and find from the Impero console? Or Let me know of there is any other way of finding this out. Thanks in advance

We use 0365 and our staff can share the document using the parent personal email address ? and it should be GDPR compliant?

Hi Our staff had difficulty taking the biometric reading of a student and finally, they registered the biometric of the thumb. But when the student produces the thumb on the reader it is not recognising. Therefore the staff deleted the biometric reading and registered the index fingers instead , but when the student puts the index on the biometric reading it doesn't read . Not sure what could be the problem. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Hi We use O365 and SharePoint. A member of the Learning Support staff has asked whether it’s possible for staff to share a confidential document located on our SharePoint with a pupil’s parents and allow them to edit it. The parents reportedly work at a school and i assume their school also uses O365. According to GDPR, would it be acceptable to share the document with the parents, and would it be permissible to use their school email address for this purpose? Alternatively, is there another way to achieve this? Thanks.

Hi, We use Parentmail to communicate with parents, and they need to have the Parentmail app downloaded on their smartphones to receive messages from the school. However, many parents either don’t have smartphones or are not tech-savvy enough to install and use the app. I’m curious to know how your school manages communication with parents. Do you use a similar service, send hard copies , or rely on newsletters? Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi We are using ParentMail for parents to manage dinner money payments. When new students are added to ParentMail, the system sends a link to their parents for registration and to top up dinner money. Each September, IT handles tasks like removing leavers, rolling up year groups, and adding new Year 7 students to the system.In cases where parents face issues topping up dinner money for their child, admin staff have been the point of contact, assisting parents, diagnosing the problem, and, when needed, raising support calls with ParentMail to resolve it. Recently, however, some of the new administrative staff seem to expect IT to take on these tasks, which is unusual. Our IT team has day-to-day responsibilities that need attention, and this expectation is adding strain. Could you provide some guidance on how to clarify to the admin department that handling ParentMail-related issues, such as assisting parents with dinner money top-ups, is typically managed by the admin team rather than IT? Hi We have moved to 0365 and we use SharePoint and Onedrive. One of the staff is asking to install Dropbox on her laptop. No sure what to email her. They have access to the school Onedrive and not sure why she is asking Dropbox . Will this be a GDPR issue and will i need to speak to SLT and tell staff that Dropbox is not allowed ? Hi One of the parent emailed me saying that they would like to buy a device for his child to use to access school emails and Teams at home. He is asking me as how i manage their device connecting to Intune and Exchange and teams and not sure why he is asking this question. It is their personal device and they install the necessary software and log into the teams app and 0365 OWA. Nothing to do with our school managing their personal device ?Please advise. Will it be ok for me to set up a google account for the student, set up the chrome book install the office from play store and give the details when collecting the chrome book? Hi I have created a new DHCP scope on the Secondary Active Directory domain controller. This DHCP scope is not appearing on the Primary domain controller. Will this DHCP scope replicate from the secondary domain controller to the primary domain controller Server? OR Do I need to also create the same scope on the Primary domain controller Any help will be great!!! Thanks in advance

Hi We have subscribed for autodesk software and they give it free for schools. If students have to use the software they have to register putting their name and email address on autodesk website . In regards to GDPR do we need to fill in DPIA Form. I assume Autodesk are GDPR compliant and please advise. Thanks and any help much appreciated.

I don't manually install the PaperCut client on each of the worksation.Rather I copy the Papercut client to a share. On the group poicy- and on the workstation OU i have set a software installation policy policy pointing to the share.So when a PC is restarted the Papercut clients get updated on the workstation. I assume after upgrading the PaperCut to the latest version on Papercut application server , i need to copy the client folder (C:\Program Files\PaperCut MF\client) from Papercut application server to the share.

Hi We have PaperCut MF Version: 20.1.1 installed on our print server. Due to the recent Papercut Vulnerability, I am planning to upgrade to the latest version that fixes the issue. We push the PaperCut client to the workstation through group policy. If I upgrade the PaperCut to the latest version on the application server, do I need to update the client as well.
