mrforgetful Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Pathfinders are a completely separate thing. A variety of things are being tried at pathfinders and the funding is different too ... they are being used to feed back into the scheme to help improve things. Ahh I see. Clear as mud.
Gatt Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Kent has just fallen to RM.... You're starting to sound like Peter Snow! I've heard rumours that RM and Redstone are in the running for the Salford area..
shreevie Posted January 28, 2008 Posted January 28, 2008 Warwickshire and Lanarkshire (?) are all RM as well as they have had contracts there for years I'm not to sure about Warwickshire, the RM We-Learn system was put in to run alongside the existing curriculum and admin systems so there's still plenty of work to be done there. I'd imagine RM would have a good shout at winning that contract though. Which would leave me wondering where we stood as we're not a school that does everything the way the LA suggests, including recently pulling out of We-Learn scheme.
steve Posted January 28, 2008 Author Posted January 28, 2008 Warwickshire - can't find anything about it taking part in BSF. It has taken part in an "e-Learning Community Project, known as We-Learn, one of four DfES ICT PFI Pathfinder projects" Lanarkshire - being north of the border, doesn't come under the BSF scheme. Only the English education system is being developed / destroyed? under BSF.
Geoff Posted January 29, 2008 Posted January 29, 2008 Warwickshire - can't find anything about it taking part in BSF. Huh? http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=+site:www.warwickshire.gov.uk+warwickshire+Building+Schools+for+the+Future

steve Posted January 29, 2008 Author Posted January 29, 2008 @Geoff - Yes I do know how to use a search engine, thanks Plenty of meeting minutes but no real substance, no plans. Grommit had indicated that Warwickshire may have a BSF contract with RM. I was just stating that I could find no evidence that they have taken part yet.
MK-2 Posted January 30, 2008 Posted January 30, 2008 We find out tomorrow who ours are. Between Ramesys and Northgate. Though I've heard Northgate sub out to RM. Both have stated they are very keen to keep in house techies..........well who else is going to dust the monitors now?!!?
MK-2 Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 Ramesys here by looks of it: Carillion jv appointed preferred bidder for £208m Nottingham BSF contract. Inspiredspaces, a joint venture between Carillion (40%) and Royal Bank of Scotland (40%). And we were told Inspired spaces was using Ramesys as their IT. Still waiting for official, cos obviously nobody can be bothered to tell us. But it's looking like Ramesys
Gatt Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 hmm.. if Salford's website is reliable and up to date, tehn we don't find out who wins until feb 09!! http://www.salford.gov.uk/learning/secondary/bsf/bidders.htm
sahmeepee Posted January 31, 2008 Posted January 31, 2008 If anyone's interested in seeing the BSF debacle play out from the point of view of Stoke Newington school, I spotted this blog: http://www.bsfatsns.blogspot.com/ written by Jill Cameron, who I think is their business manager. It's certainly interesting reading and highlights some of the day-to-day non-hilarity of putting your school through the Brown's Shady Funding process.
steve Posted February 5, 2008 Author Posted February 5, 2008 ...we were told Inspired spaces was using Ramesys as their IT. Still waiting for official, cos obviously nobody can be bothered to tell us. But it's looking like Ramesys Ramesys it is - £14.5m Link1 Link2 Wiki updated.
BobM Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 Bradford - It's SUN. Although they are providing the solution the managed service is being provided by Amey Business Services. In terms of time we are due to be TUPE'd across mid-August 2008 with occupancy of the new building start of September 2008. All on target and looking very flashy. TUPE is the real kick in the pants as it does infer we couldn't have done what they're doing but seeing as we operate with only a tenth of the spend in BSF, over the same time period, it's hardly a major surprise. 1
steve Posted April 7, 2008 Author Posted April 7, 2008 2 More Newham - RM £? Tameside - Ramesys £25mil Both on wiki

Hey Shreevie which school in Warks you at? You're not at Myton are you? I hear they've dumped We-Learn. Edited April 7, 2008 by tech_guy
Zoom7000 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 Sorry, didn't notice this thread. Newham - RM (£53m) http://www.edugeek.net/forums/bsf/18009-newham-building-schools-future-looks-like-i-may-become-rm-employee.html
DaveJ2717uk Posted May 16, 2008 Posted May 16, 2008 Liverpool's BSF is under LDL stewardship - who? I hear you cry. Liverpool Direct Limited closely allied to Liverpool City Council - GOD help us all !!!!!!!!!
Grommit Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 @Geoff - Yes I do know how to use a search engine, thanks Plenty of meeting minutes but no real substance, no plans. Grommit had indicated that Warwickshire may have a BSF contract with RM. . I believe that Warwickshire are already in Bed with RM with their... We-Learn Project...
tech_guy Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I believe that Warwickshire are already in Bed with RM with their... We-Learn Project... Yup, that's the case - I'm in a Warwickshire school that has been overrun with RM equipment for the last four years.....
Joedetic Posted June 5, 2008 Posted June 5, 2008 I've just spotted our LEA on the spreadsheet you can download from their site. I suppose I'd better try and find some info (we're wave 7-9) from the LEA. *Sigh*
scotth Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Sorry if this ahs being posted but i believe Middlesbrough has gone to RM:eek:
marco84 Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 (edited) Salford LA is between RM and Redstone Communications. The preferred bidder being announced on December 19th 2008. Edited June 27, 2008 by marco84
