Thanks ive just being checking our purchases over the last year and we already have all our Cal's for sharepoint and for the servers, plus windows xp and office 2010 licenses, so maybe at present this is not for us but if we want to go to win 7 then it would be 650 x 37 = approx £24050 so maybe when we decide to change it will be good value.

teejay;665698 If you find it so objectionable, they still do the Schools Agreement which licences per machine we dont use select we buy licenses as and when needed so at present we have purchased over 600 licenses from our LEA at approx £30 each over a period of time. im looking to the future here, i.e. moving to windows 7, newer server o/s etc etc. next question does EES cover sharepoint suite? server 2008 and VM's etc etc. cheers im already knocking on the bursars door

Question we have over 600+ pc's / netbooks / laptops, sharepoint servers x2 server 2008R2, server 2008R2 x 2 with 8xvm's (4 on each), 3 2003 servers, all clients running windows xp. we have approx 150 staff who would qualify under EES, how do you get the licenses to cover your whole schools computers under EES i thought it was based on users? so we would be about 450 short???

I thought EES was only for the number of full paid staff??? so if you have 150 staff how can you license for say 500+ pc's / servers etc???

Can anyone find out the follwoing as we cant get an answer up here not bothered about specific LEA in the question just the actual question. I have been having a think about the IT side of BSF and have the following questions: How long is the IT contract for? For arguments sake, if RM wins the Stockton bid and as a result all of the IT team are then employed by RM and then after 4 years Stockton re-procures its infrastructure services framework with another infrastructure provider e.g. Ramesys, what would happen to the IT team’s jobs? Would they still be employed by RM? Would their jobs be transferred over to Ramesys? Can Stockton guarantee that in the event of each re-procurement over the next x amount of years that their jobs will be transferred from provider to provider? If for example our infrastructure was again with RM and we used their learning platform, and realised after a months/years of using it that it didn’t meet the school’s vision plan for the future, would we as a school be able to go out and buy and install without any qualms another product that would meet the schools needs? At the meeting yesterday another school’s LA had bought into RM’s platform on the provider that it does all the online reporting etc through SIMs. But unfortunately the school realised that the product didn’t do what it said on the tin, and they then invested in SIMS Learning Gateway (SLG). SLG was embedded into SharePoint for teachers to use.
