About tbd

  1. Hi Team, As you can see not a prolific poster so sorry if this is in the wrong forum. In need of some help or guidance.. I need to implement a workflow system for Trips and Visits and CPD applications. I.e. A member of staff can fill out a pre defined form and add supporting documentation/attachments. This can then be submitted to out finance team to check budgets and they are notified when somebody does so, then gets pushed on to LT to approve and they are notified, then gets pushed on to admin staff to send letters to parent etc etc.. I'm aware of SharePoint but I was wondering if there was anything other than SharePoint that anyone would recommend..? Cheers, Tom
  2. Does anyone know the answer to this..? We have Xerox MFD's which seem to cause the same problem..? TBD
  3. Sorry to join the discussion so late in the day... I was wondering if there was anyone using roaming profiles with their students..? We're trying to implement Microsoft Lync and found that the client doesn’t really work with mandatory profiles, which all students and staff have at the moment. We've been told by Nexus (Exeter) all the schools they deal with have roaming profiles across the board. Those of you using local profiles, do you delprof on shutdown? Also do you find this has a performance hit when you logon? Sorry similar questions as TechSupp... Thanks in advance...
  4. We've got a channel and a playlist for each subject. There is content in the playlists.... Is it really that flakey..? Someone must of got it working.
  5. Sorry if I've missed this in this big thread... Has anyone managed to make their channel available on the YouTube for school website. We have no problem with our staff and 6th form as we allow them access to all of YouTube but we've only allowed the lower years access to the YouTube for schools site. Problem is that when a student accessing the schools site try’s to view our channel they get the following message; The content that you are trying to access is not available because it has not been approved by your school. Sorry about that. Seems a bit rubbish that the account you're using for YouTube for school access then doesn’t automatically allow the content to be included as educational..? How do I approve…? If anyone can help it would be very appreciated. Thanks
  6. Do your times match the start and end time of the periods?
  7. Hi All, On a slightly different subject, still with MRBS. We have implemented this system and we want to be able to make bookings throughout the whole day including during the school day and after school. We have rolled this out with times as opposed to periods and our teaching staff have all hit the roof and saying they need periods and can’t deal with times. I was wondering how other schools have dealt with this? Thanks, TBD
  8. Hi Folks, We are currently running XP and Office 2003 site wide and looking to upgrade to Windows 7 Office 2010. Currently we own individual licences for each workstation. We are looking a adopting the EES from Microsoft but want to get a feel for what other schools are using in terms of Microsoft licences and what would be more cost effective. We have 700 computers, 150 full time staff and 1300 students. Any help, guidance, and explanation as to why you take your approach would be appreciated. Many thanks, Tom
  9. Hi, Has anyone managed to find a solution to this? I was hoping we could apply a group policy to these computers so that the 'Network' didnt appear on the left pane in windows explorer. I cant find any information about this, but it must be possible... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, TBD
  10. Thanks Alex I found that there are more settings under the each area and here you need to enable the periods, I had not done this. I have now and it works...
  11. Neither worked for me. Will any of settings in the systemdefaults config or in the database effect the periods?
  12. Hi Chrisjako, I have tried all that has been described above and I cant seem to get anything to work. Have you had any luck? Thanks, TBD
