Tesla Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Hi all My pc is currently sporting a now rather old radeon HD 5670 and I'm looking to upgrade. I'm hoping a can get a good deal on one during black Friday my budget is around 100-150. I don't need it to play games in great detail just enough to get by with a solid steady frame rate on modern games. Any suggestions on what to look out for during black Friday? Or know of any good deals that have already started? Thanks
featured_spectre Posted November 24, 2015 Posted November 24, 2015 Gtx 770 might get on sale on black Friday. Would be a great card to take. Plays fallout4 and battlefront on max settings at around 50fps or so. Can't complain.

There's a game coming out next year i want to be able to play and I don't think my current card will handle it (Obduction, if you're wondering) I don't particularly have a set resolution i play at.

localzuk Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Yeah, I'd recommend the GTX960 also. I'm running the GTX 970 on an aged i5-2550k with 8GB RAM and it flies. Would've bought the 960 (the 970 was way out of my budget but hey ho) if it had existed at the time! 1

Yeah i saw that, but i generally don't buy anything that i can't get on Prime. Dont trust other sellers.......... i also thought amazon tried to price match most things?

JoHimself Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 Regarding brands I tend to use the same brands as I would trust for motherboards. I currently have a Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming. I avoid Palit and wouldn't touch anything which is designed for small cases (single slot, half height) because these tend to perform worse than full sized GPUs. I'd say the rest of your machine is fine.
