Internet broad band

We are a secondary school with 800 students and 400 devices. We have 100mb connection( not leased) implemented long before . I am looking to upgrade and go with higher bandwidth, please can you let me know what bandwidth capacity you are using for a similar school.

At my last place - 3500 user, 1000 devices - Gigabit symmetrical connection. Palo Alto firewall/filter

At my current place - 600 users 400 devices - (shortly to be) 100mb symmetrical connection Lightspeed firewall/filter

Here, 1500 users, 600 devices, 100mb symmetrical leased line with Lightspeed. Works well.

1500 users 1600 devices (1to1 iPad y7-11 and BYOD 6th form), 100MB leased line and 80MB EoFTTC.

 

soon to be 200MB over 1gb with options to upgrade.

 

With your users and devices i'd be surprised if you needed more than a 100MB leased line.

Ours is not a leased line and we have 100Mb bidirectional from LEA. This type of bandwidth will make a lot of difference between a 100MB leased line ,if I am right?

2000 users, 1000+ devices, 100Mb symmetrical - upgrading to 200mb on a 1Gb circuit in the next few weeks.

Sounds like a Point to Point link which is fairly common. Unfortunately 100Mbps is still 100Mbps, no matter how it's delivered, subject to any problems of course!

I thought we used the internet a lot but we have 1200 devices, 1400 users, 100 meg broadband and at peak usage we hit an average of 40mb on our 100meg circuit.

100Mbps currently - 1300 users, 600 devices...plus BYOD. It's only BYOD that sees us bumping up against our cap at times.

1500 devices, 1700 students (almost 1:1 chromebooks). All our documents in the cloud and we have 300Mb/s leased line and use 115Mb/s at peak and average 60-80mb/s

100Mbps. about 1500 users. Probably half that number of devices if you add up desktops, tablets, phones and laptops (the latter three are almost all byod)
