cookie_monster Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 Anyone know if you can deploy this with group policy natively or am i going to have to use WinInstall to create an msi? Cheers.
Geoff Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 This post in the VLC forums may be on interest. http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=29422 You should be able to use the information posted there with a wrapper to produce a working MSI that installs VLC silently.
meastaugh1 Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 It's no problem to repackage, it's an easy one.
bizzel Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I had some success creating a package with the RM app wizard which is WinInstall LE (right?).
Sylv3r Posted January 16, 2008 Posted January 16, 2008 I had some success creating a package with the RM app wizard which is WinInstall LE (right?). Correct. I created it easily using the above tools also.
whiplash2006 Posted June 9, 2008 Posted June 9, 2008 We have VLC installed on a number of machines throughout the school, just a word of caution though, I know it is free and thats is great but there some DVD's (more specifically Disney ones) which do not play well with it. It seems to have some real trouble starting them after the piracy warnings, just something I thought was worth a mention.
DSapseid Posted June 10, 2008 Posted June 10, 2008 It will also run from a share fyi. Yep it works from a share nicely.
