korifugi Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Oh dear, person hard resets a computer, checkdisk runs - must be a hacker.
dry Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 "Quick, our publishing deadline is in 10 minutes! How do you get your computer to do that weird thing again?"
korifugi Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Now, do I contact them warning them about the threat of hackers from New Zealand?
LeightonJames Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAHAHAH I seriously hope no one walks into this room for the next few minutes. I'm sat here chuckling away to myself after that post.
fairm010 Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Saw this on Reddit on Sunday and actually winced. Journalism is so screwed. They will even just grab a Google Street View image now rather than actually visiting a location.
halbaradkenafin Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 I'm actually curious what the rest of the article says. Also these people would have a fit if they saw my screen most days with 2+ Powershell prompts and the occasional SSH window.
jinnantonnixx Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 The image says: "Black and white: How hackers see code" How utterly absurd! It's blue and white! What a basic error.

Also these people would have a fit if they saw my screen most days with 2+ Powershell prompts and the occasional SSH window. Now imagine how airport security people react if the "show your laptop isn't a bomb by powering it on" test reveals you're running Ubuntu which decided now is a *super* time to fsck the disk on boot.
sonofsanta Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 The image says: "Black and white: How hackers see code" How utterly absurd! It's blue and white! What a basic error. Nonsense! It's obviously green and black. (top tip: full screen that on one monitor, full screen this on the other, tap away madly, look pro)
Oaktech Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 The image says: "Black and white: How hackers see code" How utterly absurd! It's blue and white! What a basic error. Rubbish, It's on this piece of paper tape in front of me than I did with a tiny holepunch.
jinnantonnixx Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 Rubbish, It's on this piece of paper tape in front of me than I did with a tiny holepunch. Paper tape? Luxury! Back in my day, we had to use ones and zeros. When we ran short of ones, we had to use lower-case 'L's. But we were happy....

But we were happy.... Ones and zeros? Spoilt you were, spoilt. We just had ones, and even then we were only allowed three of them!
