My other half has one, and has done for ages.

At first she thought it was great and made a massive difference, and I think it might have helped a little. However now, she still doesn't get up in time, but that probably isn't te clocks fault.

Personally, it wakes me up early if i'm facing it, but probably because the brightness setting are set to high for me. But I do like waking up in a room that is lit up a bit (we have blackout curtains), makes it much easier to see where your going etc

Yes, I use one. I got mine from the Claus Olsen shop, I think it was £20 which was a good deal. It's an ugly thing, looks more like a deep fat fryer, but hey ho.

And yes, they are excellent. Highly recommended. They really do make getting up easier. The trick is to get up as soon as the light wakes you, when you're out of a sleep cycle. Don't go back to sleep.

The bulb blew on mine, so I thought I'd replace it with a dimmable LED, but it simply doesn't work properly, so I'm back to a low wattage halogen.

Have a lumie, bulb blew on it and went back to using my phone as a alarm.

Got into work a few days late as i overslept.

Back to the lumie and alls good again.

Only thing i find is that the radio turns off to soon. I try and set my alarm to go off 10 mins before i need to get up so i can listen for a bit but it cuts of.

LED dimmable bulbs dont work well in it no. Going to replace mine back to halogen.

We've got a Philips one which we've used for years.

However, I am not that convinced about how much use it is. I now find it very easy to sleep through the light and have a hard time waking up with the radio too.

No substitute for real daylight in my opinion.

My ex had one, it suited her as she used to do a week of earlies (alarm at 05:00- at work by 06:00) and then a week of lates (alarm at 10:00 - at work by 11:00).

I just slept through it, which was handy as I didn't need to get up untill 07:30. I need a screaming alarm to wake me, subtlety doesn't do it.
